58 books, even without summer off

Attending Pomona council meetings would be an apt excuse if not for the fact that you can be seen reading away at your latest book of choice during any number of exciting legislative interludes.  (Jan 6, 2010 | post #2)

Pomona needs a downtown group

The City Council meeting is Monday, June "1st". And for more on the DPOA's P-BID, go to the metropomona.com website and read their blog: http://www.metropo mona.com/whatsnew/ 2009/05/whats-all- fuss-about.html  (May 27, 2009 | post #3)

New restaurant coming to Arts Colony district

Well Chuck, I don't know what to tell you. You are referring to a time 15 years ago, and this article is about the Second Saturday Art Walk, featured art venues, and a new restaurant in the Colony. Bob no longer owns property in Downtown Pomona, and my article isn't about landlords and tenants. It's about those who work hard to support the colony and all the positive things we have to offer for those who wish to visit.  (Mar 15, 2009 | post #14)

New restaurant coming to Arts Colony district

Jeff, Have you EVER been to an Art Walk? We don't have the business you're talking about in the Arts Colony. Talk to any of the more than one hundred folks who live in the Downtown area and they'll tell you this is one of the safest places you'll find.  (Mar 14, 2009 | post #10)

New restaurant coming to Arts Colony district

Where you may be right about the the previous restaurant tenant (made famous on "Kitchen Nightmares"), I can't see how this applies to Aladdin Jr. For the three days Aladdin Jr.'s been open, the locals have been filling the restaurant and giving it rave reviews. I live in the Colony and have eaten there twice in a row and love it. So come on down and try it out, Chuck. I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised!  (Mar 13, 2009 | post #5)

His week away wasn't too deflating

The signs are ominous: First the Fourth graders give you a smack slappin', then Harvey Keitel is standing over your dead body. See what happens when you have all that idle time on your hands?!  (Mar 7, 2009 | post #2)

Gallery debuts in Pomona Arts Colony

For those of you who don't know, THIS "Bell" is Deon, owner of the BASEMENT GALLERY in downtown Bakersfield. The Basement Gallery resides in a huge underground space that Deon has transformed into its own cultural arts center, offering: art exhibits, music, performance, classes and workshops. www.myspace.com/th ebasement_bakersfi eld Keep up the good work, Deon!  (Jan 13, 2009 | post #11)

Gallery debuts in Pomona Arts Colony

Thanks Alex, but that's the front page of the LOCAL SECTION, which is plenty good by me. If the Bulletin gave me a Column, I'm afraid it would make David Allen nervous. ;D Let's just say I am happy to write about local art events in Downtown Pomona and am very grateful the Bulletin prints them.  (Jan 10, 2009 | post #4)
