>>Arky, you really are heading in the wrong way, By arguing that there is a God? >>it's nutcases like you that make me wonder if being a Christian is a good thing. Actually, I have not been pushing the Christian viewpoint with Hiney, just that there is a monotheistic God. >>You claim to be so humble, a humanitarian No, I haven't. That is absolutely wrong. >>yet you refer to non believers as Stupid People. I refer to ALL human being as stupid. As in compared to the knowlwdge and breadth of God, we know nothing. As in, "Stupid people are stupid because they don't know they are stupid." Do you know everything? >>I for one think that that goes against everything you have tried to convince Stockie and Hin of in the last few pages of this chat. I just hate it when my country and God are trashed by alien heathens. It's not very fashionable but I guess I'm a throwback. >>Now I suggest you please shut the hell up about your beliefs Boy, you're tough. Not! >>talk motor racing 95% of the people who actually drive agree with me. Talk to them. >>or find yourself a site out there in the internet where you can go toe to toe with someone who actually wants to listen You people sure seem to be listening. Why do you keep yapping? >>to your supposed holier than thou crap, Never said I was holier than you. >>as for me, I think personally, you are a fanatic who, would not hesitate to break the law to try force your simplistic beliefs on others Sounds like anti-religeous predjudice to me. You've got a hard heart, eh? >>I trully don't think you even go to church on Sundays Don't have to, but I do. I'm an ordained elder, PCUSA. >>but one thing I do know is you definitely need the help of a professional to overcome your blinded and fanatical view points. All I said is that YES THERE IS A GOD AND HE IS REAL. If that make me blinded and fanatical, so be it. >>Enough already. Motor sport or nothing. It's in your court.  (Jul 12, 2007 | post #261)

Now you purport that Einstein's statements of his belief in a higher power don't mean what he was quoted as saying. Man, you need to read it again with an open mind. Try these: God may be subtle, but He isn't plain mean. -- Albert Einstein "Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." --Albert Einstein "What really interests me is whether God had any choice in the creation of the world." --Albert Einstein "Everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe - a spirit vastly superior to that of man...In this way the pursuit of science leads to a religious feeling of a special sort, which is indeed quite different from the religiosity of someone more naive." [Letter to a child who asked if scientist pray, January 24, 1936; pg. 152 Calaprice] "What humanity owes to personalities like Buddha, Moses, and Jesus ranks for me higher than all the achievements of the inquiring and constructive mind." [pg. 56 Mayer  (Jul 11, 2007 | post #258)

You're surprised that I would quote Einstein saying the universe is a product of a higher power? Why  (Jul 11, 2007 | post #255)

These British atheists first mocked the USA and then started mocking God. This thread is the result. Sorry  (Jul 11, 2007 | post #250)

If you want some more Einstein quotes, try these: My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior Spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble minds. The deeply emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning Power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God. Yet again: You will hardly find one among the profounder sort of scientific minds without a peculiar religious feeling of his own . . . .His religious feeling takes the form of a rapturous amazement at the harmony of natural law, which reveals an intelligence of such superiority that, compared with it, all the systematic thinking and acting of human beings is an utterly insignificant reflection. Still again, in another version of this statement, Einstein said: Certain it is that a conviction, akin to religious feeling, of the rationality and intelligibility of the world lies behind all scientific work of a higher order. The firm belief, which is bound up with deep feeling, in a superior mind revealing himself in the world of experience, represents my conception of God, which may, therefore be described in common parlance as `pantheistic  (Jul 11, 2007 | post #249)

There is but one God. Humans cannot even come close to understanding His nature. Faith, hope and charity (love) are gifts He has given humans and possessing them is all that is necessary to please Him. All this other stuff is nothing but human mumbo jumbo. Most humans want to be God themselves and resent Him because they're not. I assume nothing. I know what I know and I do not know what I do not know. Period.  (Jul 11, 2007 | post #245)

I'd love to get into a scientific discussion about God. I'll admit that I am too ignorant to understand the following concepts. When did time start and when does it end? Where does space stop? What's outside space? Where does this stop? When you can give me a rational answer to these questions, I might be willing to listen to your reasoning as to why there is no God. Otherwise, I'll just write you off as another stupid human being who has no clue of that which he knows nothing. “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, then are dreamt of in your philosophy  (Jul 11, 2007 | post #243)

Hey Rednecko, how can Stockdill and Hiney give something that they say doesn't exist? And since you are obviously not ignorant, please answer these quetions. When did time start and when does it end? Where does space stop? What's outside space? Where does this stop? Surely anyone who has figured out that there's no God could tell me these simple answers  (Jul 11, 2007 | post #241)

For my benefit, would you please tell me from what I need to repent? Lust, anger, pride, sloth, envy, gluttony or greed? I have tried in this exchange to exhibit all the liberality, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility I could muster. Chastity and abstinence, of course, don't apply here. Anywho, let me know, Rednecko Roberto.  (Jul 10, 2007 | post #237)
