Outsourcing increases risk

Risk is always part of every step we make not only in venturing into a business. Risk would always come before succeeding any task or plans we have to make. Venturing into a business is risking since you are not sure if it would ever works but taking risk is a big help in improving your business performance and would even give you higher profit. The issue on the security of application development through outsourcing is also part of taking risk. We all know that involving third-parties into a business means risking. So the best way to get over it is to have a good plan or make options for you to be ready whatever happens in taking the risk.  (Apr 9, 2008 | post #2)

Chrysler outsourcing computer jobs

Hi!!! I'm now currently working for a Philippine Outsourcing Service Company. Who says the cost on outsourcing isn't lower? And who says the learning curve for an outsourcer is tremendous, trying to understand the IT processes and procedures of the client and so on? Why have you actually worked for an outsourcing service company to know it all? It is actually true that outsourcing could lower the cost. Why? There are services offered by an outsourcing service company which only cost lower than a thousand dollar but will cost them thousands and thousands of dollar when being paid in your area. So, who says it isn't true offshore outsourcing isn't cost saving? And do you think outsourcing service company would hire agents or workers who are idiot? It is a known fact that competitive ITs nowadays came from other countries even from third-world countries. Try to really dig in how outsourcing really works. And by the way, for the one commented about his friends losing his job $125,000 IT job. Is it the company who should be blamed for how he leaves? He was only earning $125,000 and yet bought a house, a car and a boat more than what he is actually earning? Why not advice him to live within his keeps so when drought came he still have savings to keep him going. :)  (Apr 9, 2008 | post #30)

Hollywood now outsources to India for visual effects

Well, I'd say Dreamworks animation is already expanding to India. Does this mean India could now compete head to head with Hollywood in terms of visual effects? Though I know there are also many Asian countries where Hollywood outsourcing for visual effects.  (Apr 3, 2008 | post #1)

Zoning question prompts action

We can't do anything about the reality. It is a reality now that companies nowadays hired people who are well-educated than those who are less-educated. Less-educated workers are now needed in companies who hires skilled workers than educated workers, thus well-educated workers would be looking for jobs that would fit for what they have studied and to companies who pays high compare to less-educated. Though I could also say that there are too many less-educated workers who are more intelligent and more deligent in working than to well-educated workers.  (Apr 3, 2008 | post #8)

Using a Search Engine Optimization Company vs. Hiring an In-Hou...

I believe Search Engine Optimazation can be done in-house but why do a company takes a part of its business and gives that part to another company, which in a way the process is called Outsourcing. Although the main objective of outsourcing is often cost reduction, still SEO professionals and specialists alike are closely accustomed to acquiring top-level search engine results for all their clients is the reason why companies prefer SEO outsourcing. Priority placement and top rankings is a daily, on-going struggle when you are a professional SEO specialist. The SEO field, as a whole, needs to keep up with ever-changing technology and also has to be familiar with other web site marketing techniques such as banner ads, pay-per-click programs and even some offline advertising options. Meaning, they need to have somebody who is doing a job mainly on SEO.  (Apr 2, 2008 | post #1)

Professor: Higher-paying firms get better employees

I don't believe higher-paying firms get better employees because there are too many firms who are not paying as high as the other companies and yet got better employees than those who paid higher. And as for firms paying lower than other firms, I don't think employees perform lower than expected. There are many employees who love their job though they are not getting high compensations and they performed better than those who are paid higher.  (Apr 2, 2008 | post #7)
