Um, not really: [4:15] Those who commit adultery among your women, you must have four witnesses against them, from among you. If they do bear witness, then you shall keep such women in their homes until they die, or until GOD creates an exit for them.* * NOTE: A woman witnessed by four people in the act of committing adultery on four different occasions, with four different partners, represents a danger to public health. Such a woman is a depository of germs, and a health quarantine protects the society from her. A good example of an exit that saves a quarantined woman is marriage--someone may wish to marry her, and thus protect her and the society. (May 16, 2008 | post #210)

Is there a list somewhere of which alderman are backing the CCM and which are opposed? (May 16, 2008 | post #57)
Plan Commission meeting on Children's Museum expected to be emo...
Wish they were all required to read Last Child i the Woods, by Richard Louv, which "is the inspiring work that proves children need nature as much as nature needs children" and would then *not* take even more nature away from our kids! (May 15, 2008 | post #64)
What's wrong with giving consumers the chance to make *informed* decisions about their food? No one is saying you are not allowed to sell food over a certain calorie count or that you aren't allowed to order something no matter how many calories. But for those of us who want to be more aware of our food so we can work toward better health, this is wonderful! And the cost shouldn't be prohibitive. Heck, by going to sparkrecipes.com or other sinilar sites, i can figure out the nutritional info for anything I cook - and that's free! Whining about cost makes me wonder what they want to hide... Higher postage rates add to consumers' pain
Some of us *like* taking the time to write letters and my nieces and nephews are children who are always thrilled to find something in the mailbox with their names on it. I use e-mail numerous times each day, but still love "snail" mail, too, and appreciate being able to use it for such a bargain price. (May 10, 2008 | post #18)
Higher postage rates add to consumers' pain
I agree with those who say 42 cents is still a bargain. There is no way I could hop on a plane and bring my nephew in Phoenix a birthday card for that price! I am happy to pay 42 cents to have letters delivered across the country! (May 10, 2008 | post #13)
In Woodlawn, children hear all about museum plan
Wow. A new low for the CCM... I wonder how old the children were. What if a teacher organized a giant group of children from Garfield Park to write letters asking the CCM to move to their neighborhood? Would they be so eager to listen to kids thenAmen! (May 9, 2008 | post #9)
Walk NOW for Autism! Well, not *right* now. And you don't actually have to walk anywhere. I will do it for you. May 18 is the Walk Now for Autism 5K walk in Chicago. I will be walking and I would like to ask you to consider contributing in any way you can. Seriously. If you can only give $1, I will take it and thank you with sincere appreciation. A few facts: * 1 in 150 children is diagnosed with autism * 1 in 94 boys is on the autism spectrum * 67 children are diagnosed per day * A new case is diagnosed almost every 20 minutes * More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes & cancer combined * Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S. * Autism costs the nation over $90 billion per year, a figure expected to double in the next decade * Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases * Boys are four times more likely than girls to have autism * There is no medical detection or cure for autism You can contribute directly online by going to http://www.walknow forautism.org/chic ago/personal/kat. Please feel free to pass this on to others who might be interested in contributing, too. THANK YOU! wishing peace, love, and healthy children to all (May 8, 2008 | post #1)
Children's Museum relocation foes form coalition
Are they selling the t-shirts on-line? They should consider it... (May 5, 2008 | post #4)
Exactly. More children who have the least opportunities will have access to a museum at Garfield Park than downtown. (May 5, 2008 | post #70)

Boy, 5, may have shot self in head, cops say
I actually believe in gun control, but want to point out that this child is not dead; he is in critical condition. God willing, he will recover and perhaps the lives of other children will be spared as adults realize that, if they *need* a gun in their life, that gun should be securely locked in a place where no child has access. Hooray! Thanks for this suggestion Tribune! The West Side has been my number 1 choice for location since the CCM announced it would move. And, if for some reason the CCM wants to remain separate from the Chicago Park District's Museums in the Park program, there is plenty of open space all along Lake Street near Garfield Park, close to green line stops. Children who *need* the kind of opportunity the CCM could provide would have better access and you can bet the tourists will still find it. Having more people come to the West Side will help with revitalization efforts and will encourage police to pay more attention to some of the challenges facing the area. And while I do not love the idea of more trafiic in our neighborhood, it still seems a *way* better option than directing ever more traffic to Millenium Park! Kudos on your best suggestion yet!
