11 arrested in drug sweep

Do you guys ever wonder why they end up doing these sweeps every few years? It's because they don't have the guts to get to the root of the problem. What is that? Those guys with all of the money, that throw it around to get their way. They're totally in on it, and the cops know. Unfortunately, they will never get busted.  (Dec 1, 2008 | post #3)

QMA once again in financial trouble; announces downsizing

Yes, they supposedly were doing fine for a while. They had laid people off, and did a bunch of rehiring. It's just been in recent months that they starting laying off again...and not paying their employees. Among other illegal money things...  (Dec 1, 2008 | post #2)

Team with best chance of winning BCS going into 08

OMG! I can't wait for the season to start. Woo-hoo! It's right around the corner. Anywho, I think it is going to be a great season for a lot of teams. Let's just hope it isn't another season of upsets. I seriously got sick watching the Colorado game, well not physically, but close. I'm anxious to catch the USC/OSU game, can't say that I want either to win, but someone has to. Damn the luck! ...and whether we make it to the championship game or not...I sure the hell hope we don't blow another bowl game! lol...that sucks! Boomer Sooner!!!  (Aug 1, 2008 | post #3)

School zones help keep kids safe

Some people just amaze me. The ones that are griping about the school zones may or may not have children. If they don't...I assume they just don't care enough about the kids to slow down. The ones that do have kids are the same ones that gripe about other people speeding through their neighborhoods. Give me a break people! Going and faster for 1000 ft or so is NOT going to make ANY or enough of a difference on how fast you get someplace. If you don't believe me...just get a calculator out and do the math!  (Feb 3, 2008 | post #1)

Have you ever gotten out of a ticket?

4 times at least... Once for speeding. I was pregnant, and it was my b-day. One time I should have gotten 3 tickets at once. My inspection sticker was expired for over a year, my tag appeared expired for over a year, I was following to closely, speeding and failed to signal. I was on my way out to hang with some friends that night and the officer just gave me a written warning for failure to signal while changing lanes. Another time, honestly, I should not have been driving...anyway, got a verbal warning for no light over my tag. The most recent I was following too closely and barely speeding. I think he felt bad for my sleeping kiddos in the back seat, so he gave me a verbal warning for following too closely. Don't worry, I have gotten several tickets I did have to pay.  (Jan 26, 2008 | post #5)

Ohio.com - 'Don't shush my child' and other dilemmas

I agree with the others...what you are saying is ridiculous. My parents' generation were pretty well all spanked and they are not angry. I was also spanked as a child, and no anger issues here. My kids are now 12, 10 and 5 and still get spankings when necessary. They know how to act in public, and know what will happen if they do not. Not all of today's children or parents can be lumped in with the disrespectful and bad ones. I've raised my children to say 'yes/no sir/ma'am', 'please', 'thank you' and all of those things. Honestly it pisses me off to go to a restaurant and be treated differently because my kids are with me. They are always quiet, cell phones are silent, and we keep the table and area around us clean. That being said, our service still is not very good over half of the time. What is lacking in today's society is a general lack of respect for pretty much anything. People are afraid to discipline their children and are worried about being not being p.c.  (Dec 30, 2007 | post #29)

Two Altus men among those arrested in statewide drug sweep

Significantly impact the drug problem??? Ok, I say not much. They have done major stings like this before, and the drug problem still runs rampant. These guys are gone, but there are plenty to take their place. In this town, the major impact would mean bringing down people they know they just can't. IMO...  (Dec 24, 2007 | post #1)
