Early election turnout varies between neighborhoods

a week or so ago, there was an ad delivered where i live. it was a huge 8 1/2 x 14 legal sized full color ad put out by the realtors. it had a picture of some cowboy boots on it and a huge list of taxes on the backside. NOWHERE did it even describe what this 'transfer tax' was all about.. it just said, "VOTE NO TO NEW TAXES" i personally thought it was a pretty chicken sh_*t approach by the realtors.. this tax was FOR THEM and they didn't even have the courage to say what the tax was.. i didn't like the tax, as i don't think taxation at this moment in time is good, and it could only hurt the development of santa fe at a critical time... but for the SPINELESS REALTORS to used a SCARE TACTIC to garner votes was just too much for me. there's got to be a better way to help the lower income in this city.. and i'm starting to think (just like a number of people here have suggested), is to implement a FLAT FEE FOR REALTORS.. they are the ones that contributed more than anyone else to that ridiculous over valued market this nation just crashed from.  (Mar 11, 2009 | post #145)

Robertson hit with sexual-abuse claims

Agency says killings hamper Mexican gray wolf comebac

You know... there's not really much you can say about an article such as this. Me? I'm a big proponent of the protection and reestablishment of the wolves. They are beautiful animals, but they are also animals that are attached to the wild. If ANYONE EVER contemplates removing one.. i would only PRAY that they would contact me first.  (Feb 6, 2009 | post #1)

Sanbusco center eases parking fees on weekends

isn't anyone at sanbusco VALIDATING parking? i totally understand why sanbusco did what they did.. but i don't think they intended to drive off their customers. and to SantaFeCat.. i'm sure they WANT to sell you those shoes. i think you need to focus on the WHY here... it's that darn railyard parking.. the $9 city garage. to me, that's as asinine as charging people $$$ to take their trash to the dump. there are just some people who will NOT pay $$$ to take their garbage to the dump, and will dump their trash in an arroyo and then EVERYONE suffers. the only ones that pay the price are the honest people. same here with the parking.. people will just go elsewhere.. and the ones that 'pay the price' in this example, are the local merchants at sanbusco.. but it surely isn't THEIR fault.  (Feb 4, 2009 | post #52)
