Jehovah's Witness

The ONLY-ONLY-ONLY True God! (John 17:3)

Can you cite the scripture in Genesis which states the angels were there at the creation of the earth. Can you tell us about the four creatures and the 24 elders that are before the throne in heaven.  (Feb 28, 2014 | post #1153)

If rauch "ONLY"* " means "breath, wind'" why then is spirit used in the NWTHS instead of breath or wind. * quotation used for sarcasm.  (Feb 28, 2014 | post #1152)

The ONLY-ONLY-ONLY True God! (John 17:3)

Yet, Jesus said do not call anyone father. Except for the one Father in heaven in Matthew 23:9. Even though Jesus is said to be called the Eternal Father. It is written that he is the first-born of all creation. If this is the case, then Isaiah 9:6 would indicate that He is called Eternal Father, Mighty God from the beginning. John 1:18 states that the only begotten God has explained the father. How could a god be created, formed, or begotten if Jehová stated in Isaiah 43:10 that He was the only God and no other God was formed before him nor will there ever be one after Him.  (Feb 28, 2014 | post #1139)

It indicates that God is speaking in the third person. I can accept that. The Word, the Word of God, The WORD OF GOD is exclusive to Jesus.  (Feb 28, 2014 | post #1138)

Ex 7:1. Could the possibility exist that God was speaking here figuratively by making the Pharaoh believe that Moses was God? I believe so. I believe God did not mean it literally.  (Feb 28, 2014 | post #1136)

You say, "Likely he was assisted by his "fellows ", "companions " (Heb 1:9)..." You use of the word likely indicates that you are not 100% sure if the companions helped. The use of quotation marks are used for several reasons. 1 is to use another person's actual words. Another is to emphasize the word. A third use is to exaggerate the word's meaning. While a fourth use is to render the word's meaning as the opposite. A fifth use of quotation marks would be that the word has a different meaning all together. always question why one would put a single word in quotations. I generally find that when someone puts a word in quotations they are eithet exaggerating its meaning or indicating the opposite meaning.  (Feb 28, 2014 | post #1134)

The ONLY-ONLY-ONLY True God! (John 17:3)

Start off with Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. It does not say, "In the beginning God and a god created the heavens and the earth." Interesting that you use the Spirit of God instead of the spirit of God or the life force of God as the NWTHS describes it. The word Spirit is indicative of a proper pronoun, a name. It personafies an individual. Whereas, spirit is a noun; a person, place or thing. just as God is another proper name for Jehova while god is a thing. So in essence, you are stating this Spirit helped God create the heavens and the earth.  (Feb 28, 2014 | post #1133)

Jesus was disintegrated

Your belief shows that you doubt God's abilities to resurrect a person back to life, from nothing. His all powerful memories and creative powers, are not enough to accomplish a resurrection? " On the contrary, we believe God can resurrect a person back to life. We believe God will resurrect both body and soul. In doing so, God will restore man to his created essence as in Genesis 1:27. " How does God resurrect a body that was vaporized in a fire or the heat of a nuclear blast, and carried away in the wind?" Are you describing vaporized as dissolved such as in HCSB 2 Peter 3:10,11? HCSB 2 Peter 3:10,11 But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief;[a] on that day the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, the elements will burn and be dissolved, and the earth and the works on it will be disclosed.[b] 11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness.  (Feb 27, 2014 | post #1410)

Jesus was disintegrated

A soul is the combination of the body and the life force..." According to one tenet of the witness is that they do not eat blood because it contains the soul. They cite Genesis 9:4,5. of course the blood is drained from the animal's body in order to eat the meat, but the blood is otherwise disposed of. According to God, the soul of the person is in the blood, not the body. "...If the body and life force are separated again, the soul ceases, and death ensues." With your reasoning, one could literally eat blood and figuratively eat blood by a blood transfusion because blood is nothing more than elements after this life force is gone. "When this life force leaves the body and can no longer be measured, death occurs." Interesting. Yet, when one is clinically dead, one's organs can be harvested within a timeframe and can be transplanted into another person and that person can live longer with a donated organ. Also, the blood can be harvested as well and be used for blood transfusions. The blood can also be broken down into fractions for blood transfusions which the witness seems to be ok with. Why is it that blood outside of the body can give life if it cannot breath on it's own.  (Feb 27, 2014 | post #1409)

How does God resurrect a body that was vaporized in a fire or the heat of a nuclear blast, and carried away in the wind?" Answer: Genesis 18:14, Jeremiah 32:17, Matthew 19:26, Mark 10:27, Luke 18:27, Mark 9:23 "He also went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison" It is generally accepted that these spirits are the angels who left their heavenly position during the time of Noah. It is also generally accepted that these angels put on a fleshly body in order to take human females as their own. Questions: If the Word is a spirit who became man, that is to say, Jesus put on a fleshly body, how is it that his spirit died and the angels did not, after all they are spirits that put on a fleshly body as well? How did these spirits get trapped in prison? Where is this prison? "...they have the ability to appear in a physical human like body, Jesus appeared to Abraham, and even sat down and ate a meal with him." The witness uses the definition of appear as to come visible as out of thin air much like a magician will make something appear from out of nothingness. Is this the only definition that is considered, or can the witness also considered appear means to come into sight; to show up. Such as the sun appears on the horizon or the singer _______ will appear on the Late Show tonight. Some witnesses claim that the angels, and Jesus did not actually eat when they sat down and ate with Abraham or with the Disciples and other men they appeared to. If this is the case, Jesus deceived the Disciples. In deceiving them, Jesus actually lied to them.  (Feb 27, 2014 | post #1408)

Jehovah's Witness

Is Jehovah a invented name?

Actually, Hebrew has it's own distinct alphabet which does not include letters as used in the English Language. YHWH is the transliteration of the Tetragrammaton, God's name. The phonetic translation of the Tetragrammaton is Jehovah, in the English Alphabet and Jehová, in the Spanish Alphabet. Now if the witness would want to insist they are 100% right and boast it has the only accurate translation in its spelling of the Tetragrammaton, it should write God's name as YWYH. I on the other hand, accept YWYH, Jehovah, and Jehová as God's name. I also accept Lord as God's name. I understand the reasoning behind using Lord for God's name. I also accept any other's language translation for God's name as long as I understand the meaning and intent behind the word.  (Feb 26, 2014 | post #26)

Isn't that what I just did? Did what? Did you acknowledge that being undefiled with women and being virgins is also to be taken literally as well as figuretive? Can you explain chasteness? So you know what it means to be chaste, do tell, does this mean you are clean and undefiled at this moment? Can you explain how the 144,000 can sing a song if they are beheaded? Can you cite the one scripture where it states the 144,000 are kings and priests? Again, the 144,000 are said to be sealed, protected, they sing a song that no others know, and they follow the Lamb wherever He goes. One more thing, if these, 144,000 have been slain (Rev. 6:9), how can they stand before the throne, the four beasts, and the elders(Rev. 14:3) and sing their song?  (Feb 25, 2014 | post #1378)
