That's a nice story, but it's false. First, when the rate is so high, you are basically punishing people for success. Why would you want thing? Second, even if you did want to punish success, it is flat out against the country's founding principles. Third, people weren't shamed into not moving operations offshore because the Modern Liberals have been beating into us that we are all to tolerate (I hate that word now!) bad behaviors. Well, what do you think we get? MORE BAD BEHAVIORS! You are trying to compensate for your own bad ideas by punishing people. You Modern Liberals need to look in the mirror. When the Modern Liberals came into power and started undermining our culture (they even used the word "counter culture" to describe themselves), there are consequences. This is why I can say that many of our problems are caused by Modern Liberalism. So strong is their desire to make things "equal", that they don't care about what they destroy. Right out of the gate, in order for the Modern Liberals to force everything to be "equal", they have to treat people unequally. At a minimum, it creates tension. Imagine if Washington did this? We could attack the humassive deficits. More money would be freed up for productive purposes and the economy would come back sooner. Man, you are just dense. 1) You said "There is no DATA & EVIDENCE in the last 30 years of Republicans being Fiscal Conservatives when in positions of Leadership of America." ...and myself and others have pointed out that Conservatives don't like it when Republicans are liberal. The spending way beyond our means is liberal, not Conservative. Republicans are infested with liberalism too. 2) You also missed that Congress has is most of the problem on the spending front. Again, we're dealing with liberalism, NOT Conservatism. Plus, most of the spending originates in the House - which has mostly been under the control of Democrats - something like 40 of the last 50 years. You guys keep explaining things wrong. I know, I know, but the ignorance is a result of the liberalism that has infected our culture. Not everyone pays attention but more people have been brainwashed by the the Modern Liberals over the past decades that our system is evil and we are the problem. In other words, many of what we would call ignorant people never had a chance. It's the people who should have known what was happening that we should consider blaming. But, on the other hand, the problem is normal people cannot fathom Modern Liberalism. Who could understand that these Modern liberals actually do hate America, Western Civilization, etc.???!? It's not logical, but yet it is true. So it's hard to blame people. For those people who haven't seen Evan Sayet's talk "How Modern Liberals Think", now is the time. I pretty much agree with that. To Obama and the other deep-down Modern Liberals, the American Dream is a hate crime. I wouldn't say "Shame on America", though. We can narrow down the list. The taxes collected under Reagan about doubled. The problem was spending - which was Congress. Just like now, the liberals then spent, spent and spent. Reagan brought hope to people. Carter brought what he himself called a "malaise. " Liberalism will do that. Carter will go down as a terrible President and so will Obama. Reagan will go down as a great President. except for the fact that the top 10% pay 70% of the taxes and the bottom half only pay about 3%. So when you say "The article reveals important statistics that show that the rich have been favored over the rest of us chumps", you are being misleading. You've been misled. You said "I would argue we need more people who are rich, not fewer." Yes. You would think that the liberals would think this way too because they are always looking for money. The stats are clear that the top 10% already pay 70% of the taxes so you'd think that the liberals would work to help people become more rich. Instead, they work to kill success and work to have fewer rich people while, AT THE SAME TIME, saying that the rich don't pay their fair share. This is one way that you can see that liberals (really Modern Liberals) are really Socialists. If they cared about people or the country, they would work to make things better. Things only look bleak when Modern Liberals have any power. When Bush spent money like a LIBERAL, things didn't look good. When Obama keeps spending vast sums (multiples of Bush's spending), things look even worse. In case you've missed things, the Democrats have been on a vast spending spree. Don't forget that Obama voted for the big spending items under Bush - including TARP. Plus, the dummy signed Porkulus without reading it. When you complain about Republicans, you are mostly complaining about their LIBERALISM. Modern Liberalism is the problem and it's in both parties. Why do you persist in blaming Republicans when their lack of Conservatism is the issue? Focus on the Modern Liberalism. That's our problem. (Sunday Dec 13 | post #32294)
