Once slow-moving threat, global warming speeds up, leavin...

OzRitz, Hard to imagine a global problem where some countries pass a law reducing something that will protect them, while others suffer, Global warming theorists continually shoot them selves in the foot with inane arguments like that. You are your causes worst enemy.  (Jan 8, 2014 | post #42558)

Ozritz, Defending a theory with a theory might be either right brain or left brain. So, depending on which theory you choose, well you can see where this is going, depending upon on which side of your brain actually controls your thinking process. Too bad you don't have a choice..  (Jan 5, 2014 | post #42446)

Obama says 1 million signed up for health care

Corporate income that you cite comes from off shore, which the current government will not allow to touch US shores without a 35% tax. However, the same government is inviting foreign companies to invest in the US while adding incentives. Go figure.  (Jan 5, 2014 | post #275)

Eris, I guess you missed the point, it didn't matter who was responsible for the deaths of our people, it matters that our people were left to die. Hard to spin that.  (Jan 5, 2014 | post #168)

Boeing Machinists Approve Contract To Secure 777X Work

Not much to add to that eigthman, lower income for the middle class helps the fairness program of the current regime. I bet the poor thought it was going to be the 1%er who paid.  (Jan 5, 2014 | post #2)

Politicians: Forget What We Said in 2005

The filibuster is part of a democratic practice to limit the power of the majority in influencing the minority. Each party, at times has used it and each party at times has tried to limit its use. Crying that a filibuster is undemocratic or obstructionist is a typical blame shifting tactic when the law that the majority wants to pass doesn't have "we the people" support. Trying to shift the focus from their, pass this mess at all costs bill, to the other guy for not wanting it, when a majority of us didn't want it is the driving force behind their want for change. Getting caught in the partisan politics is where we fail, not recognizing that the minority has a voice is what has brought us to this terrible division.  (Nov 23, 2013 | post #45)

Race in America: Why are blacks being seen as racists?

Racism is one of the currently most misused and misunderstood words in use. It is a form of discrimination, no different than what anyone who is discriminated against feels. Fat, skinny, skin color (light or dark)short, geek, homosexual, glasses, rich, poor, religion or in any other way different than whatever is the locally accepted norm is subject to discrimination. Those who think their case is worse or more special than others are suffering from a delusional or intentional ignorance of the reality of discrimination. No one who has suffered from it is any different, regardless of the reason, than any other victim. But, until that becomes accepted knowledge, the squeaky wheel will continue to demand the attention.  (Oct 17, 2013 | post #8973)

U.S.-Russia deal will allow Assad to 'delay and deceive':...

Wall Street Government, Kerry said it can't be done, that is a plan? Russia made it happen, that is a plan. Not caring what the international press writes keeps partisan politics alive and well. If you really want the facts and not just reinforcement of your own opinion you consider looking at more sources than you have been. Syria is a no win battle for us and Obsma made a costly mistake by getting us involved in the first place. If Syria is a problem, it is a global one and the global community should deal with it, not individual states. We are not the sheriff, we are not the worlds conscience.  (Sep 16, 2013 | post #131)

U.S.-Russia deal will allow Assad to 'delay and deceive':...

Wall Street Government, Cherry picking your references doesn't change the facts, Kerry"s comments didn't refer to any plan, just more tough talk that the administration couldn't back up. Take a look at some international news reports, both refer to the plan as a Russian plam. Again, partisan politics has no role here. Beating the guys drum isn't going to change the damage he has done to the American image. www.bbc.co.uk/news /world-middle-east -24058006&#820 6; www.reuters.com/ar ticle/.../us-syria -crisis-idUSBRE988 0HY20130910&#8 206;  (Sep 16, 2013 | post #81)

U.S.-Russia deal will allow Assad to 'delay and deceive':...

Wall Street Government, Not sure where you get your information from, but it might help if you tried another source. Putin and Assad gamed the US and now have a larger say in the Mideast. Syria as their only ally didn't give Russia any leverage until Obama errored by making a premature demand he couldn't back up. Russia put forth the plan, almost any news agency will relate that fact. Based on an inaccurate tea bag remark I am guessing that you are a D, this isn't about Rs and Ds, it is about America ceding power to Russia because of our poor leadership. Failing to understand that global politics is not about partisan politics only adds to the problem, not the solution. We are a team who lacks a coach who is capable of make us a winning team and we will suffer for it in the long run.  (Sep 16, 2013 | post #69)

U.S.-Russia deal will allow Assad to 'delay and deceive':...

McCain maybe right, but like Wall Street Government, his thinking has nothing to do with the situation. Assad no longer has a reason to keep chemical weapons. Russia will supply enough conventional weapons to ensure his position and by ensuring the destruction of the weapons, Russia has been given a role in the Mideast by an inept US. We have becime a minor league team attempting to play on a world class level. Rs and Ds have forgotten that we are on the same team. We fret, worry and bicker over who is going to drive the team bus while the big leaguers are eating our lunch.  (Sep 15, 2013 | post #24)

Syrian PM Hails U.S.-Russian Deal as 'Sole Exit' from...

Almost everyone involved in the elected and appointed government seems to have forgotten that their job is to look out for our interests, not their own selfish ones. Obama continues to strike out in international games, Lybia was a regular season game and losing that one didn't keep us from reaching the play offs, but losing in Syria put us in the position of looking at next season while we ride the bus home. It is almost impossible to compete on a world class level with a less than a bush league team, especially when the star player can't hit, run or pitch. Both the offense (Ds) and defense (Rs) are minor league players on the world stage, which makes us minor leaguers as well. Sad day for Americans  (Sep 15, 2013 | post #3)

judged by color of skin or character?

Pretty much the dumbest poll I have seen. Was Obama elected and reelect because of his skin, Oprah, Tiger, Ali, Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan? Racism is one of the most abused and misused words in the English language. Get over it and move on. A secure well paying job might be just a tad more important,  (Aug 29, 2013 | post #1)

Impeach Obama

Impeaching Obama would be a terrible mistake, we voted for him and to realize the full ramifacation of that decision, he needs to stay. We need to see those impacts and try to accept the responsibility of the votes we cast. Letting him, and us, off of the hook that easily, would be too liken what we/he have done to an "oops, sorry". Taking the middle class to a level of poverty formally relegated to the poor and the poor to levels not seen since the Great Depression is not something that should be given a slap on the wrist, no, history needs to record the full impact of our decision.  (Aug 29, 2013 | post #152)
