Historical pop. of Hampton;2010...... -10,000 left

I have been saying for years that the City of Hampton is dying due to an overpaid, under worked, inept, venal, Administrative staff in the City government. They are more interested in their six-figure paychecks than producing anything of value for the City and the only economic good they do for the city is to cash them. In the last City Council election 17% of the registered voters came to the polls. I guess the citizens of Hampton are satisfied with the government it has. People are voting with their feet and they are taking their skills and other assets with them. Soon the City will consist of a few gated communities surrounded by a sea of people on income transfer payment systems. I would like to see the City Administration get enough taxes out of them to cover their bloated salaries. In the meantime I would like to see someone try and sell me a Hampton City bond. That would be a very interesting conversation.  (Jul 15, 2012 | post #3)
