We, as a nation cannot be attacked by a nation sending over an invading Army, ain't gonna happen, not possible. One or two nuts can attack one of 100 people. A Secret Service Agent could go nuts and attack the President, that is in the realm of possibility. Two wannabe famous people got in. They were screened for weapons but there are weapons that do not show up on a magetometer, such as ceramic knives. The Secret Service does the best it can and has improven a lot since Ronnie Rayguns got shot in the lung and several others were shot by a crazy dude with a 22. That is almost an impossibility now but can't be ruled out. If someone wants to attempt something, well, the imagination is available to everyone. One does not have to use a gun either. There is a big difference in keeping what you do "secret" and providing adequate security for an installation, site, nation or the WH. The uniformed Secret Service personnel are a seperate unit from the Agents who do personnel security for VIPs. Totally different and they stay in place for longer periods of time. Most do not have college degrees, just "security guards" who have had a background investigation. Starting salary is in the mid-$20K range.  (5 hrs ago | post #26)

If it were solely to benefit the soldiers and their families, it would be a "Non-Profit ". A cup of coffee cost them about 15 cents to produce. How much do they give to the soldiers and their families, betcha its less than 10 percent. They are out to make money by taking advantage of people who want to help and care about the soldiers and their families, becoming millionaires in no time at all. What do they charge for the Franchise rights? $50K, $75K, $100K? What are their monthly fees, 10 percent of the net profits or gross sales? This is a scam just like the Billy Graham evangelical BS. What did Franklin need with a $50 Million HQs, when a warehouse would have been just fine or they could have rented, no the Graham's own everything when you get down to the nitty gritty, just like Jimmy Swaggart owned everything when his ministry went belly up. He rented the college and office buildings to the state of LA for over $8 million. All these people play on peoples good hearts and kindness to get rich and get accolades heaped on them. If they were such good people, they wouldn't be millionaires, they would do it for free plus expenses. Soldiers are gullible and glad to get something they think people gave from their heart, don't think about the middle man who is getting rich off them. Money earned through work or otherwise is not designated for the purchase of a gun, legally or illegally. The person who earned the money did not have to buy a gun, he made that choice with no input from the employer. The idiot who chose to ride around with a loaded gun and a hot temper knew he would probably explode on someone and grab the gun, it is all his responsibility. Green Beans is a business started in Saudi Arabia by two brother contractors, Jason and John Araghi to take advantage of a captive customer base. They have expanded all over the USA and world where military bases are located. They make money for themselves and very little goes to the soldiers. Do you know what percentage? They just opened a new franchise at Langley AFB. How much does a Franchise cost? How much do the Franchise Owners have to pay to the Corporation? What is their profit margin? They make a lot of money off the soldiers and people that support them but are actually being used for growing a business and for profit, very littl charity from these guys, just enough to keep the business plan profitable and expanding.
