Anger flares during part of policing forum: Ridge community mee...
Very keen there Avenues. That is why they provided no microphones to the citizens. They had microphones to talk at us.... Talk AT us.. they didn't want to have to listen or anyone else to hear anything but what they had to say.. Very telling. Almost Freudian I'd say. (1 hr ago | post #28)

Because Jamie precieved the officers rudeness. So in fact he was, if this is what Jamie got from the encounter, and hence wrote an article about said rudeness. Did you read the article? (4 hrs ago | post #584)

what. If Burgman got a complaint filed againat him, and had to tell his side. You're implying That would be the whole story? Because it's his side, it's the whole story or dead on truth? (4 hrs ago | post #581)

Someones interpretation is all it takes. It's can also be called perception. (4 hrs ago | post #577)

If their badge number and name are supposed to held in such secrecy, why do they wear them on their lapel for everyone to take note of if the need arrises? It is on their uniforms for our use, is how i see that. I also see Jamies point, of wanting his article to be about this specific officer, and not All the CHP officers up here. If he'd been general, then you all would probably be complaining of Jamie's Geat CHP Smear Campaign. Geez. (4 hrs ago | post #574)
How can general questions about police proceedures, and the council members role in them, if any, NOT be appropriate at a public "forum" on Policing in Paradise? That, I can not figure out. & what, are we to believe that these few that "stood up" to E.B. represented "the town of Paradise" ? Please! EveryONE has a right to their opinions. Appreantly even the DA said her questions should've been answered & were valid questions. Maybe that was a bit of show for themselves, so they could say they were trying. Who knows. They said it anyhow. They were very valid & appropriate as to the matters being discussed. Seems to me, the meeting realy showed just how worried the department, or more to the point, their Lawyer is in a way. I mean, during a public forum on policing, that the Police & Council members put together, the Town Attorney shuts down a questioner, because of possible future legal actions, after she asks a few general questions having nothing to do with any specific case?? he does have those same rights noelle. & a lot more of them too, that we do not have, protections too. he has town council, hes got the police union, hes got the police officer bill of rights, hes got c.v.c.'s protecting every judgement call he makes, hes got his brothers in uniform, his chief... i could probabley go on. We, we have few rights anymore. and we in the CCOP plan on continuing our push for citizens rights, and police accountability. (17 hrs ago | post #533)

Wrong. the citizens constanly have their names printed in the papers , during coverage of 'charges' pressed against them. They don't wait for the court proceedings to finish to print their articles for all to see. Take the local chiro, and the charges against him. They may not have necessarily been true, but they were printed as soon as they were filed, devistating to the person, or not. A police officer should be in no different position, with respect to his professional or not so professional behavior. They are people, just like me and you right? But supposedly held to a higher standard. We pay them. We should be able to scrutinize them whenever there is questionable behavior. People want to say Jamie slandered the officer, but if the alligation is true, then it is not slander, by definition. And the fact that Jamie precieved the officer as being rude , then in fact is, he was. Just as anything a person Says to another, just has to be PRECIEVED by the person, to be threatening , to be considered a threat under the law. I know this first hand,as I had 2 DA's come to my door with a little tape recorder of myself telling someone, on an answering machine i might add, to "pull their head out of their arse, and call me." After I put in a call to the police about the visit, i was informed of this 'law' ... Though i still can't for the life of me figure out how that was precieved as a threat by ANYONES standards. I asked on another forum this question, but will ask here as well. has anyone attended privious meetings at the Town Hall in Paradise? And at those meetings, were there ever microphones for the citizens to use & address or ask questions of the council members? (Yesterday | post #449)

Thank you Jamie. But i guess the officers supervisor didn't see the problem with it. My sisterinlaw was killed during a highspeed pusrsuit. That time they justified it by saying the guy was a threat to citizens,,, but how can they justify this officers lack of judgement for doing this for a seatbelt violator?? I just don't get it. I complained, and they did nothing. They just backerd the officer and then the officer himself justified it by saying he'd done the same 6+ more times that same day.like that makes it right or ok to do. It doesn't matter what we say as the tax paying citizen. In their eyes, and so many others', they have the right to do whatever they want, whenever they want, However they want and for whatever ridiculous reason(s), & we should just deal with it because in their eyes, they're 'just doing their job'. Geez. Reread that post there buddy. I SAID, the police could then charge THE PERSON THAT SPIT ON THEM AND THREATENED THEM with, assult & battery & terrorist criminal threats. I did not say THEY were the one being charged with it. Try putting on your glasses before reading anything more. (Tuesday Jul 22 | post #250)
thats far from truth there 'facts'. We know Rough is 'the man'. And we also know he has done & did nothing to help remedy the situation, the sitiation that keeped growing in our small town, and to thid day is still a problem (at least it's a problem for the citizens, don't think the cops see it as such) We do not support him or the job he's 'done'. Apperently Rough doesn't see a problem either... or Carrigan Would already be gone, along with his infamous dueo. (Tuesday Jul 22 | post #362)
