Lights are on...no one home!

Apparently the Big Rapids forum is not in general use. I've been following Grand Rapids but most of it is not relevant to where I live in Osceola County and the forum has been hijacked by trolls and belly crawlers. Anyone for intelligent conversation about the local area, politics, etc.?  (Sep 30, 2013 | post #1)

Bigfoot Sightings

I found some bigfoot tracks near the house so I set up a trail cam. About 2:00 in the morning Three raccoons show up. One of them is carrying a piece of plywood cut out in the shape of a large foot and the other two are carrying a small cooler. The first one sets the wooden foot down in the dirt of my garden and the other two leap onto it and stomp around for a few seconds. Giggling, they jump off and the first one picks it up and moves it about 6 feet away and the other two repeat the process. This goes on for about 20 minutes after which they pass a long burn around and crack some Limearitas from the cooler.  (Aug 4, 2013 | post #82)

Reopening the Osceola Inn

LMAO...can't remember what year you were married? Must have got hitched to one of those boot-scooters at the bar after too many shooters.  (Apr 9, 2012 | post #30)

Reopening the Osceola Inn

Interesting that a nameless troll slinks by 10 months after the last post to this thread and bashes Reed City as though Trenton Michigan were some pinnacle of societal evolution...spare us the BS. I grew up in Livonia where people from Trenton wised they lived. Every town, city and village has it's idiots as your keyboard has so deftly proven.  (Apr 4, 2012 | post #27)

Obama congratulates Putin

Yep...first mistake I ever made. Not bad for a 68 years. I would also point out that grammar and spelling are not strong points on this board. You included, as you may note by rereading some of your own posts.  (Mar 10, 2012 | post #4)

Obama congratulates Putin

Hey, hey, Vlad. Congrats comrade. Rahm and I told you it would be easy to rig and steal the election. Worked like a charm, didn't it? Oh, yeah don't forget to deposit the bullion in our Swiss depository. Chow, brother.  (Mar 9, 2012 | post #1)

Sebelius: Decrease in Human Beings Will Cover Cost of Con...

Why not just have the Government pay for all contraception and all abortions under any circumstances with one caveat...all unmarried women already on the welfare system demanding an abortion must be irreversibly sterilized. Further, all unmarried men serving time in prison for any violent crime shall be irreversibly sterilized. There ya go...excess population problem solved and many, many fewer liberal Democrats sopping up entitlements and polluting society with their socialist utopia crap. Who does Romney remind you of the most?

With the exception of Hurley, what we have here, based on spelling and grammar errors, is 7th grade level (and I'm being generous) Civics class. Live free or die  (Mar 9, 2012 | post #7)

Israel asks for Bunker Buster Bombs

I agree, and I also think their covert operations have already begun, IE nuclear scientists being murdered or disappearing, computer viruses and other activities as yet unidentified as well as the very overt misinformation campaign you mentioned.  (Mar 9, 2012 | post #2)

Road Paint

I don't know about the wheelchair thing but I do know that motorized wheelchairs do not belong on Chestnut street with auto traffic in a narrow lane...it's a tragedy waiting to happen. People driving through town today are confused about whether there's a left turn lane and where it is. I don't think the paint situation is a purposeful act by the city because I see poor paint all over the county...it just doesn't last. Can better, longer lasting paint be purchased? I think so. They did the right thing by eliminating the signal at Upton and simplifying the signal at Church now I hope they don't cheap out again with the repaint and measure lane width properly for cars, not wheelchairs. The depot building boondoggle is another topic altogether. Suffice to say that Reed City is run in a regressive manner by the good old boys club and it's sad to see a town like Evart working so hard to develop economically while Reed City with the advantage of a Freeway exit works in the opposite direction and stagnates.  (Feb 21, 2012 | post #4)

Road Paint

What's up with road paint these days. Reed City's paint job didn't last 6 mos. and is now barely visible. Are we now buying it from China cheap so we can do it over again twice a year...or is it the environmental wacko crowd that made the manufacturers reformulate it because they're afraid little Johnnie might eat a paint chip while playing in the middle of Chestnut St. In any event, the next time they paint downtown Reed City...buy somebody a tape measure and make the center left turn lane the proper width instead of wider than the driving lanes.  (Feb 7, 2012 | post #1)

Road Paint

Is it just me or is the quality of the paint they use for lane markings on highways pretty lousy these days? They sprayed all the yellow and white lines and markings along the main drag in Reed City last summer and the stuff is barely visible now and almost worn away. I suspect the environmental whacko crowd has something to do with the sudden inferior quality of the material. Either that or the counties are just cheaping out.  (Feb 6, 2012 | post #1)
