Whatever works. I own the stock.(YUM) With splits and reinvested dividends I have over 1200 shares now in my Roth IRA since the late 90s. KFC is in over 120 countries/territor ies around the world. I have been going over my first quarter finances this morning. First quarter of 2013..... My four shares of Berkshire Hathaway is worth $14k more. Earned about $8600 in my oil/gas stock dividends. My retirement savings are up $47k. Company match for my 401k was $1400 in that period. $3800 from rental my apartment in Rome. $2400 from rental in Florida. Moved 30% of gains to cash. Realized taxable capital gains of $160k. Realized tax free capital gains of $31k. Those 112 grams of gold I have(since the 60s) is worth $560 less since my last post. Also that 112 grams(4 ounces) of gold that was purchased at about $34/ounce in 1960 is worth $1443.10/ounce as of today. Just four $6 shares of the 1400 shares of Apple I bought long ago was worth $5,211.20 when I sold last fall so you can imagine what the total was and all tax free in my Roth.  (Sunday May 12 | post #193)

This nonsense is really getting old. An Asian man or anyone else including myself had a better chance at business because we had the capital to get started be it from personal savings, retirement accounts or loans from friends and family.....Real family not the multiple bastard kid runaway father can't keep your legs closed mess today. Then the real hard work begins. Most I know started small and gradually worked up.They either had a solid family or started having kids later. Starting a business is risky no matter how you slice it. I work a job I enjoy and get paid well. I know how to save and invest. I knew how to write checks and even had my own savings account by sixth grade. Began buying stocks in the 9th grade. Funded my own business in Switzerland from my home there going on 10 years now. Don't see what leading in math skills have to do with anything. Everyone should have work ethics and basic math skills. Black people don't tip

The only truth that hurts is you are waiting tables depending on tips to feed a family. Probably no health,dental,reti rement savings,etc.. And you will have no choice but to wait on some people who won't tip good enough to your liking and you won't know if you will get any tip at all until they are done with their meal and gone. This is one of the many scenarios my dad warned me about when i was in high school and why getting an education and establishing a career/trade/profe ssion is important before having a family or creating bastard kids. Looks like everyone is in the same boat. It's all over the news today. I guess some people can't deal with the recession. U.S. suicide rate rose sharply among middle-aged. NEW YORK - The suicide rate among middle-aged Americans climbed a startling 28 percent in a decade, a period that included the recession and the mortgage crisis, the government reported Thursday. "The trend was most pronounced among white men and women in that age group. Their suicide rate jumped 40 percent between 1999 and 2010." One theory suggests the recession caused more emotional trauma in whites, who tend not to have the same kind of church support and extended families that blacks and Hispanics do. Another theory notes that white baby boomers have always had higher rates of depression and suicide, and that has held true as they've hit middle age. The report also unveiled surprising information about how middle-aged people kill themselves: Hangings overtook drug overdoses, becoming the No. 2 manner of death. I prepare and cook my meals at home and workout regularly. We have farmers markets and co-ops here.Kosher and organic sources. Not many I know cook anymore. Most say that it's cheaper to eat out. I am banking that people will continue to eat junk food and fund part of my retirement savings through these stocks. Only slight dips through the years and still going up on the charts. Three or four splits along the way. Never thought it would ever pass $100/share back then. Looking at the chart from the early 80s to 2013 the increase of the price seems directly proportional the average American male and female waist size. Wouldn't know. Not familiar with it. Had to google that. You would know this better than I since its part of your name on this forum. I bought 1k shares of MCD at around $6/share with some of my profit sharing funds from work and never sold. Don't care for fast foods and don't eat at those places but the reinvested dividend payout stock splits have done well. Same with YUM brands. Historic day today in the stock market.
