US Fidelis Trims 15-20% Of Its Workforce

US Fidelis has always made their employees work on Christmas Eve and then given them Christmas day off. Not this year. Sales people will be off on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day AND the following Monday Dec. 28th. Why would US Fidelis give their sales people so many days off yet still have customer service and the saves dept report to work on Monday?  (Dec 23, 2009 | post #45)

US Fidelis Trims 15-20% Of Its Workforce

Jared Sutherland is right. And he should know about the crap that goes on there since he and his wife, Ellie, are or were 2 of the biggest **** managers at US Fidelis. They are both coniving and 2 faced. I guess the only reason Jared is commenting on this article is because he isn't there anymore. Ha!  (Dec 15, 2009 | post #23)

US Fidelis Trims 15-20% Of Its Workforce

US Fidelis hands out draw checks on the 15th of each month and the commission checks at the end of the month. Not only did they get laid off 11 days before Christmas but also got let go 1 day before they were to receive their draw check (usually $1500). If they were counting on that draw check they are screwed. I worked there for 2 years in very many positions. I knew what when on from pre-screening, to sales, to callbacks and all the way down to the saves dept. Regardless of whether US Fidelis is complying with the law now the fact of the matter is they built there company on breaking the law. Just because you quit those tactics doesn't mean you shouldn't answer for them. Darain knows this has been coming for a long time and he's been doing whatever he can, behind the scenes, to save his own hide. He even through Eddie Struckman under the bus after all he did for that company (which included lying to the employees). Darain Atkinson sold his building to the Mepco, US Fidelis choice of a finance company, and they rent it out to him for a penny a month. Why do you think that is? He just settled his lawsuit with BMW for $200k and is currentyly being sued by Prestige Administration for trademark infringement. They said they will not settle for anything less than $500k. Also, the lawsuit file by the state of MO has not been settled and US Fidelis is being sued by a total of 40 AG's and are being investigated by the FBI and Missouri Department of Insurance. What do you think will happen because of all of this? I'm sure Darain sees the writing on the wall and is getting rid of the evidence and letting people go who have the goods on him (like Eddie Struckman). I feel bad for all the people who got let go but I don't feel sorry at all for Darain Atkinson and all his sychofantic managers.  (Dec 15, 2009 | post #22)

Auto Dealers

BMW sues US Fidelis for using automaker's name

Customers are told they have 30 days to cancel, no questions asked. This is not true. Customers first call into the Customer Service Dept, 1-800-649-1856, and then they are transferred to Account Resolutions (AKA Saves Dept). This dept assists the customers depending on their particular situation. A lot of the times customer purchase the coverage and then have buyer's remorse. They usually purchase the coverage during the week and then think about it all weekend. Then they call in Monday when they've changed their mind. That's why Monday is a high volume call day. Best bet is to call between Tuesday and Friday. Representives remind the customer why they bought the coverage in the first place. Sometime this works and sometimes it doesn't. That's when therepresentative starts giving discounts. They can discount it lower that the Sales Dept. In Saves they make commission for "saving" the deal. This depends on how much money they discounted the cost. Reps get paid $50, $40 or $20. A lot of the times the customer really wants to keep the coverage but can't because of personal issues such as losing a job, illness, etc. Reps give discounts or defer the customer's next payment to give them time to catch up. A lot of the times the customer refuses to give an answer. It's the reps job to get the reason out of them. If the customer hangs up before it's resolve they are not cancelled. Reps are taught to not just cancel the coverage without fighting to save them. Therefore, the customer cannot just cancel for any reason. The best bet is if you want to cancel the coverage just agree with everything they say and insist you just want to cancel. Eventually the rep will give up. Also beware of cancellation fees. This is not told to you in the Sales Dept. Sales reps are instructed to be vague as possible. If you ever want to speak with a manager in Saves the rep is told to take care of it themselves which is very frustrating for the customer. If you insist on speaking with a manager use their names: Jeremy Nemens is head of the whole Saves Dept and he has managers below him that are on the floor. These managers are as follows: Maximillian (Max) Williams, Dave Escobar and Shelby Rothmerich. If you ask for those managers and they still won't let you talk to them, they are lying. In the last year the Saves Dept has tripled in size. Why do you think that is?  (Jul 30, 2009 | post #1)

BBB says complaints against warranty company continue

Here's the truth. U.S. Fidelis has been working to make sure that their company is doing everything legal. They have definitely made changes for the better. With that being said, why do you think they made changes? Because they were definitely breaking the law before. They auto dialed people and had their reps tell people who weren't interested that they would have their names put on the do not call list. This was a total lie. People were mad because the auto dial message told them that if they weren't interested just to push 2 and they would be taken off of the call list. This also was a lie. And the managers there lied to their employess about this as well. Sales people were trained to be vague as possible about the coverage. Customers were told they could cancel at anytime with no problems. Lie. The Saves Dept (AKA Account Resolutions)is taught to do everything they can to keep them from cancelling. They get commission for that. There were a couple of warranty companies that went under and when a customer called in about it the reps were told not to say anything. They may be doing the right thing now but the thing is that U.S. Fidelis was built from the ground up by being dishonest and deceptive. Now that they have money from their deceptive practices they've used it to make themselves legit. They are very charitable to the community but only because it benefits them. The managers they have running their company aren't very competent either. They're either family, friends or members of their "church" . Element Church, that is. The owners think they can take their ill-gotten gains and use it to clean up their image. I'm not anti-religious but they do hide behind their church and community service. There are many good people who started working there after the company stopped doing robo-calls and they have no idea how this company used to operate. If anybody mentions their original practices it's considered negativity and those people are removed. U.S. Fidelis may be doing the right thing now but their past is catching up with them.  (Jul 24, 2009 | post #1)
