Construction Near Peoria Avenue At I-44 May Hurt Business

In reality, the amount of space they have cleared on each side is really only enough for one additional lane each way when you consider the new safety standards that have been in place for new roads for years. That should really give you a clue how dangerously narrow this current stretch is.  (Oct 13, 2009 | post #14)

Officials: New Arena Football League Will Be Based In Tulsa

Pretty sure the reason for furloughs is because of the economy, which has slowed down general revenues so much that the BOK revenues couldn't recover all that was lost. Also pretty sure that the lottery is a state initiative, so why are you using that as a complaint against the city? Please use your brain before commenting next time-- if you have one, that is...  (Sep 25, 2009 | post #9)

Senator Tom Coburn's Town Hall Moves Because Of The Crowd

Yes, the plan will cost about $1 trillion to implement. But as I stated above, much of these costs we are already paying today because we are paying the costs of healthcare for those who show up at hospitals who cannot pay. By insuring these individuals and families, overall medical costs will go down. And by insuring those who have not been insured before, we will be able to provide those individuals preventative care, which will make us all healthier. So in reality, we will have a healthier population who will use less critical medical care and overall it will cost us less after it is implementedSince you are obviously capable of copying and pasting talking points from the internet, maybe you can find one of the real bills and copy and paste where it says illegals will be insured under the plan. You won't find it. Because it doesn't exist. While this makes political sense, unfortunately you will still be paying for their care, as they will still be coming to the ER when they get really sick and if they can't pay themselves, we will get stuck with the bill just like we always have.  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #67)

Well the truth is that Obama's plan would only add about 35 million patients into the healthcare system (hardly the 50 million your talking points claim). And the funny thing is we already pay for them via inflated costs throughout the system that cover the non-payments of many of these patients. This plan is not going to require cuts to Medicare, and is not going to change the doctor-patient relationship that is already widly successful within MedicareThe "death panel" argument is probably the most refuted argument out there. And the fact that you still repeat it shows how far you have been removed from facts throughout this whole debate. The legislation will pay your doctor's fee if you want to have a coversation with your doctor about what to do when you are nearing the end of your natural life, whether to keep you alive at all cost or to allow you to die when it is time. There is no government intervention in this. THe government has no say on whether you die or not. And the funny thing is, this amendment to the bill was proposed by a Republican. It was not the brainchild of a Democrat trying to ration care by killing people.  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #66)

I wonder about YOUR intelligence when the best you do to refute logical arguments is to copy and paste talking points (lies, misrepresentations ) from another website. Since you obviously can't think for yourself and will believe anything someone else writes, maybe I can refute your claims with some arguments of my own that I did not copy from anywhere elseWell, to be honest, it is possible that employers might choose to switch from private insurance to the government plan if it is a better plan. Your talking points say "almost any business" becase they are carefully crafted to truthfully avoid the point that most large employers are not eligible to join the government program. Most small businesses are, and if you work for a small business, chances are you know who is picking your healthcare plan. Sounds like if your employer is choosing the bottom line over reasonable health benefits for you, you need to find a new employer. Also, your talking points claim that doctors won't want to work for the government's "low wages." Again, another misrepresentation. Government payments will be set very similar to the way prices for Medicare are set. And you don't see many doctors fleeing Medicare, do you?  (Aug 25, 2009 | post #65)
