BNP candidate arrested in Liverpool

Talk about a complete lack of self awareness. I've encountered some real shit people on this forum, but none as worthy of utter contempt as you. There is nothing positive I can find about you at all. I have no doubt that you are absolutely hated wherever you go. Even the muslims I know wouldn't stand for the crap you defend. If you had an ounce of humanity in your rotten soul, I might wish you well with your acute mental illness, but you don't so I wont.  (May 3, 2012 | post #34)

32bn rail project wins backing

I'd have loved to have seen that, when they excavated it. We're very lucky to have so much visible heritage. People have had to fight to preserve much of it though, else it would have been lost to 'progress', which may have made a few people richer, but the rest of us would be all the poorer for it.  (Jan 12, 2012 | post #39)

This is exactly right. Some of the places that will be destroyed are priceless in my opinion, and they can never be replaced.  (Jan 12, 2012 | post #37)

Another news blackout - 47alleged muslim groomers due at ...

These predatory cowards cynically target vulnerable youngsters from problem backgrounds, whose fathers are usually not in the picture. At least some of these swines are appearing before courts now. It wasn't so long ago that the police refused to acknowledge it was happening. I can understand the news blackout, to a degree. If the extend of this problem was suddenly plastered across all the front pages, there would be big trouble, and we know there are some dickhead Sun readers about who would probably attack innocent folks from the Hindu and Sikh communities. Awareness does need to be raised though, and the Pakistani community can have no complaints if it finds itself on the receiving end of a backlash. They all know what's going on. Don't anybody be naive about that.  (Jan 12, 2012 | post #3)

This ruined church and graveyard, in Stoke Mandeville, will be lost if HS2 goes ahead. http://tinyurl.com /792e9fc No way on Earth is this a price worth paying for some cnuts in suits to save an hour or whatever on their way between London and Birmingham. That place needs to be preserved for future generations to connect with. It's value is priceless, and it's not the only place of its kind that HS2 will destroy forever.  (Jan 10, 2012 | post #4)

We also need our heritage, and this ridiculous white elephant is going to destroy a lot of that.  (Jan 10, 2012 | post #2)

Irish Republican Army

Happy New Year to you! I disagree with you on one thing. The past should never be entirely disregarded. We all owe it to our kids, grandchildren, and subsequent generations to learn from it, and do whatever we can to make the future a better place for them. Athbhliain faoi shean*! Here's to a better future for all the people of these isles! *Yes, I did have to Google that.  (Jan 10, 2012 | post #2)

Are there too many Poles in the UK?

I hope this forum is now heading for a turning point. Everybody here has probably said things they now regret. I certainly have. 'I can read' has often found himself on a different wavelength, but who can say they've never read a post from themselves and thought: "Bloody Hell, that didn't come out anything like I meant it to."? It's easy to get aggressive when you don't see eye to eye with people. Progress only comes when people are grown-up enough to consider opinions from all around on their practical merits, and not merely on personal prejudices. Although personal prejudices, more often than not, will have their roots in something that should be worth considering.  (Jan 7, 2012 | post #30)

'Bath torture boy begged to die'

Clearly you're from a backward culture that stigmatises victims of abuse more than the actual perpetrator. I hope that one day, the victims in your community feel as able to come forward and demand justice for themselves as those unfortunate enough to be abused in the modern world. That will be a big step forward for you.  (Jan 7, 2012 | post #35)

MP Dianne Abbott makes racist remarks

I think an aversion to Islam is fair enough, and should not be considered a racial prejudice. Rightly or wrongly (rightly to my understanding of the religion), there is a perception that Islam is an intolerant, highly aggressive, oppressive and chauvinist affront to many of our values. People have made huge sacrifices and fought hard within the last century to make us probably the most fortunate people that have ever lived. I'm talking about feminism, gay rights, and also multiculturalism. I don't think there's ever been such a liberal society in human history. Muslims are the people who most frequently identify themselves as the ones who want to take us back centuries, and undo all the progress we've made. Every demographic has it's share of those who want to undo that progress, but only muslims get protection from the PC brigade for their intolerant beliefs.  (Jan 7, 2012 | post #102)

Are there too many Poles in the UK?

Sorry, that doesn't wash. You've expressed too much spite and hatred for British people for me to believe you have 'high standards' for them. Such 'high standards' we should all bow our heads and allow muslims to dictate to us how to live our lives and what food we can eat? Allow ethnic minorities to kick our heads in and accept a status as second class citizens as a 'positive' form of discrimination? All the evidence you've presented suggests that your 'high standards' for the British consist of nothing more than dhimmitude and being shat upon on the basis that we somehow deserve it for being British. If you are actually a white Brit, I blame people like you for creating racial divisions more than I actually blame any foreigner. In fact, foreigners would stand a much better chance here if it wasn't for idiots like you with your pious attitudes, relaxing the boundaries for some on PC grounds whilst abusing others for noticing the blatantly dangerous inconsistencies.  (Jan 7, 2012 | post #26)

John Cleese: 'London no longer English city and that's ho...

It's like this: Men with rent/mortgages, bills and families to support need a minimum return for their labours. What we have at the moment, is workplaces being filled by similarly skilled people from Eastern Europe, who are invariably single and living in shared accommodation, and are therefore able to undercut the indigenous workforce by a very substantial margin. Our borders are open to anybody from an EU country to come here and work, and that is not going to change any time soon. The cost of living will not come down either, thanks largely to private landlords exploiting those on housing benefit and pushing prices beyond what somebody on a low wage can be expected to pay, thereby creating a benefit trap for thousands of people who could and should be offering so much more.  (Jan 7, 2012 | post #142)
