Right on! An unloaded gun is just a paperweight. Keep it loaded or don't keep it at all.  (May 6, 2011 | post #39)

Have you any idea what you're talking about? My XDm has two safeties - a grip safety and a trigger safety - and both have to be engaged before the pistol can fire. My gun’s only going to hurt someone if they try to hurt me or if I handle it in a reckless manner. And if it’s the latter, then I deserve what I get. As another post wisely stated, the best safety is watching that trigger finger. And a pistol is deadlier than a rifle? Thanks for the laugh!  (May 6, 2011 | post #38)

Geronimo's tribe seeks apology for Osama bin Laden code name

I agree, but think of it from their perspective - when you've got nothing you've got nothing to lose, so why not feign outrage at everything?  (May 5, 2011 | post #38)

Bills would legalize concealed handgun carry in Wisconsin

"Police organizations in both states have vociferously opposed legalizing carrying concealed weapons, saying it puts public safety officers and the public in danger." So, the police are more afraid of people who would be lawfully carrying a weapon than they are of criminals carrying weapons? Saddest thing I've ever heard, though I doubt street cops are against this law. Rather, this pressure probably comes from the head honchos, as with everything else. And of course it's all politics - in bed with which party are police unions? Certainly it's not the party that's running WI right now. It's about time Wisconsin joins the 21st century and allows its citizens to practice their right to keep and BEAR arms. There but by the grace of conservatives will Wisconsinites be able to lawfully carry firearms for protection.  (May 5, 2011 | post #12)

Police: Woman cut baby from expectant Kentucky mother

The friend called for an ambulance after helping to clean the baby and taking a picture of the newborn, Winn said. At the hospital, at about 5:50 p.m. CDT on April 13, Coy brought in a uterus, ovaries and placenta with umbilical cord still attached, along with the baby, Winn said. Kidnapping, stun gun, slitting wrists and throat, disembowelment? Death penalty. We're pregnant too lady, come and try to take our baby. We will have every caliber waiting to send you back out the door, sans infant.  (Apr 20, 2011 | post #15)

Born in Minnesota 114 years ago, the world's oldest man d...

This man's life spanned across three centuries, something few people will ever be able to claim. Think of all the things he saw in his lifetime - all the wars, all the depressions, all the rights movements, all the technological advancements, all the styles of music and clothes and speech that went in and out of style. I would think that all that change would be the hardest thing to get used to. And yet he worked hard, paid his taxes and lived an unremarkable yet satisfying life. We should all be so lucky! The elderly are to be treasured, and I am sure there are many people who wish they had gotten to know him before he passed away. See you on the other side, Mr. Breuning!  (Apr 15, 2011 | post #22)

Nurses union protests new security at St. Joseph's

The union, however, remains opposed to the change. It printed fliers this month urging HealthEast, which operates St. Joseph's, "to do the right thing and bring back our off-duty police officers." "OUR" off-duty police officers? Yes, they belong to you and you only! Such entitlement.  (Apr 15, 2011 | post #13)
