What happened to the new trash cans?

I hear you WW1. Around my house no one leaves them out til Monday, but they are often left out on Saturday and occasionally Sunday. Funny things is I did hear about the Waverly center in the newsletter and how it was manned by different non-profits two days a month, but since we don't get a recycling tote or can like Oak Lawn I didn't think they had the regular program. I've never seen any of the blue bags out. Course I don't go driving around on garbage day looking for them either! There was an article in the Star about Oak Lawn and how they get money back on the products that the residents recycle. I wonder why/if Midlo is giving that extra cash away. The article said it could be a few hundred or a thousand dollars and varies, but they put the money back into the city. Seems like a good idea. Blue Team Bias?

Hey so apparently Concerned for Midlothian knows my religious status. Wow. Are you psychic? For the record, if you think only Christians can be concerned for their fellow man, you are not a credit to your religion but a blight on it. True Christians don't go around spouting that other people are not Christian or in some way beneath them for not sharing their belief. While a true Christian may not agree with other religious beliefs, they will respect them. So maybe you're really the one that needs a lesson in Christianity. And so dear Concerned for Midlothian, if a gun wielding psycho was outside your door, we now all expect you to come on to Topix and post it because you said that's what a Christian would do first. Not lock their doors and grab a weapon or alert the police that you're spotted the elusive suspect. No no. You're too good for that. You're a Christian. You need to get on Topix and post here first. Then you can do whatever your little Christian heart desires. ;)  (Monday | post #40)

Well how dumb am I? I didn't know midlo had the blue bag program. Boy is my face red. Do you just get the bags at the hall? I was actually thinking of having two cans in the kitchen to start recycling and maybe driving it over to one of the recycle boxes like my sister does where she lived, but if they will take it separate here that's better. Course the hubby will be annoyed, but too bad! :) Got our big cans today on the East side of Clifton. Across the street had gotten there's already, but now we have ours.  (Monday | post #61)

I didn't read that thread so I missed the big hubbub, BUT. Isn't ghetto just a general term for an impoverished area? Any minority(ies) can live there, and it's still a ghetto. Midlo Observer. The problem is that some people attack heatedly for their passionate belief and others just to attack. Deciphering which is which on here can often be quite difficult. I would argue though that most of the people that attack back out of passion would take offense to your post though because you're implication is that only people that are blue attack for disagreeing when we all know too well that reds and blues and those in between are capable and guilty of such attacks. I for one did not vote for Murawski to stay in office. I voted for Stephens. No that does not make me a blue. Just like I am not a republican, democrat, liberal or otherwise. I never agree with any group in full so I refuse to be labeled as a group. I vote with my gut and the knowledge I have at that moment, and in this instance, it happened to be blue. Doesn't mean I don't agree at times with the reds. So you may wish to reconsider branding us all as one particular color or party.  (Friday Dec 18 | post #15)

Could you please read before you reply? I said speculating as to how MANY innocents were put to death. Many do get out on appeal, and many still never get convicted. How do you feel about the feds taking over Thompson prison?

Oh gosh. After Midlo Man's reply to me elsewhere I'm shocked we agree here. Bring it. It will be safer full than empty. The guards will be trained well, and the jobs are absolutely needed. And I still think Chicago would be a better target than Thomson regardless. If they want to try and hit us they will whether we have the criminals or not.  (Wednesday Dec 16 | post #3)
