Rare Tuberculosis Case Prompts Warning

What this article does not seem to mention is the fact that this man did not only endanger those on flights but all who he had contact with in hotels, restaurants, restrooms, meetings of any kind etc. His own family, the family of his bride, etc. This goes way beyond simply infecting some on a flight and the CDC better wake up to that fact.  (May 31, 2007 | post #23)

Pfizer faces criminal counts in Nigerian child deaths

With stories like this I have a tendency to take a lets wait and see what comes of it stand. Sure Drug companies are money grubbing, uncaring scum at times but also the Nigerian Government supports scammers who take American's hard earned money without even a thought of remorse. How much of this story is true? Time will tell. One thing I do find interesting is the fact that pfizer didnt retain any of the medical records??? they simply left them behind in Nigeria?  (May 31, 2007 | post #2)

Federal Quarantine for TB Traveler

MrBill I fully agree with you, this guy boarded a plane not once but twice with an infectious disease. He knew that he could infect others around him and did so without regard for anyone but himself. He put his new wife at risk, and ignored orders not to travel. If a guy can be arrested and do time for exposing someone to aids then this fool should be sentenced for wilfully exposing others to TB. His wedding and his honeymoon and the rest of his vacation were more important to him than getting quarantined and rid of the TB.  (May 31, 2007 | post #107)

West Palm woman charged with aggravated neglect of disabl...

How horrible!!! I hope this woman gets jail for a good long time. To do this to anyone is horrendous and deserves stern punnishment, preferrably off the streets for good. God knows what she was giving these people medication wise, what longrun damage was done because of the filth they lived in.  (May 31, 2007 | post #66)

Mom: TV show, store used son who called 911 as 'marketing...

Here is the issue... the inside edition people used that little boy for a show, they used the toy store for a backdrop probably in exchange for mentioning the store's name. In the process the boy was made to look like a hero that was being rewarded by the store when in reality he got nothing! The show producers, the toy store should be ashamed at what they had done. They exploited this story to serve a higher agenda and give free pubicity to someone who probably supports the show, a large advertiser perhaps. That is wrong. What this boy did was wonderful, caring and heroic nothing less. He should be rewarded but not exploited. Inside edition has just lost this viewer.  (May 21, 2007 | post #26)

Call to ban smoking while driving

Just one more way for our govt to control us, that is all this is about. In some states talking on a cell phone while driving is illegal, yet cops do it all the time, you see them pass you and one hand is up to their ear with a phone in it. Its ok for them but not for anyonelse? GET REAL!!!!! One more way to gather fines from people, one more way to say our freedom is being flushed down the toilet by politicians who have nothing better to do with their time than come up with bs laws that do nothing more than make life as a so called free american a joke. Why arent they getting tougher on penalties for sexual offenders? why are innocent children being killed every week? Why are drunk drivers getting off in court daily regardless of how many times they have been pulled over and hauled off to jail? Yeah some drunk driving laws we have, dont worry its only your 10th offense the judge wont get down on you until the 12th. Here is your get out of jail free card use it wisely. There are far bigger issues that need to be addressed in my opinion and it is about time those paid by our tax dollars start paying attention.  (May 20, 2007 | post #791)

Tide turning for homeless man crushed in trash truck

Fact is he chose to sleep in a garbage dumpster, noone told him to go there. That is not the fault of the trash company, nor anyonelse. BUT looking at the underlying reasons for such behavior, such lack lof judgment on this man's part would be a wise idea while he is in custody. Normal people do not sleep in trash dumpsters, I have talked to a lot of homeless in the past and even they are not that desprate to sleep in a dumpster. If the attorney he has is serious about helping the man then he would piece his past together and find out who let him get to the point of being on the streets like he was and go after them for improper care. For letting this man slip through the cracks and not get the help he truly needed when he first had this injury. again Only if neglegence is found should there even be talk of a suit. What was the trashman supposed to do? dig through the dumpsters before he hooked up to them and hauled the trash away? What really frustrates me about this whole situation is how complacent some people are about the homeless situation here in he US. Not everyone wants to be homeless, not everyone asks to be homeless, sometimes circumstances are such that they have no choice and may have come from a very comfortable lifestyle at once. All you need is for a guy to have a horrific accident, need multiple surgeries and rack up medical bills beyond what insurance will cover if he was even able to afford insurance, get sued by the hospital , lose and wind up losing everything he had to pay them back. Our healthcare system is a bunch of hungry wolves ready to devour anyone they can. The collection agencies are the pit of the devil they have no heart at all, the courts are for whoever has the most money to spend. Did that person ask to become homeless? NO did he ask for his whole world to be turned upside down? NO, Did that person ask to be in an accident? No. To those who choose to judge before knowing the facts, I hope you can live with yourselves, I surely hope you can understand later in life when noone is there to help you when you need it, because what goes around comes around. Karma can be your friend or your enemy YOU Choose.  (May 20, 2007 | post #29)

As for his so called lawsuit, I guarantee you that it didnt come from him, this was started by an ambulance chasing attorney who saw a chance to make a few bucks on the side. The ONLY thing I agree with the attorney on is the fact that this man should have been afforded proper care rather than thrown to the streets, so to speak.  (May 19, 2007 | post #27)

Sometimes it pays to read an entire article before jumping to conclusions or accusing people of adding facts that do not exist. Velma the attitude you are taking is just what I am talking about. Sure some homeless choose to be in that position, some are fully capable of working and getting off the streets , I do not feel sorry for nor enable such people BUT this is clearly a man who does not have all his witts about him and needs help , he probably has been passed off from one agency to another in the past and fallen through the cracks so to speak. If he is mentally not capable of caring for himself or maintaining a job he needs help learning such skills. I work very hard for my money too, I cannot be there to save everyone BUT if I see someone like this who is not capable of reasoning I will fight to get that person the proper help they need before taking a complacent attitude and walking away. How do you expect someone with a brain injury and obviously lacking ability to reason to hold a job and support himself without guidance and some care? Oh wait it is easier to make like they dont exist than to deal with the REAL issues.  (May 19, 2007 | post #26)
