Montebello Councilmember Asks for Stop on use of Social M...

It is unfortunate that those who cannot answer inconvenient facts instead try to guess who stated those facts. They and their friends seem to believe that truth is dependent on who states it, and that truths stated by someone they dislike can somehow be discounted or ignored. Truth and facts stand on their own, regardless of who repeats them. In Debate, not addressing facts means that you either agree with them or have no factual response. So sad. You can tell a lot about someone by the friends they keep.  (Sep 12, 2013 | post #36)

Should Councilmembers Recuse Themselves if City Receives...

At one of the recent city council meetings, a resident made the statement that he wanted councilmembers to recuse themselves from votes on agenda items where the applicants have made financial contributions to groups or the city to avoid the appearance of influence from these 'donations.' I will give his examples later if no one else raises them His comments are currently running on Charter Channel 3 at random times. Pay for play, pay for votes, pay for altruism, or some other reason? The important thing is, what do YOU think?  (Sep 8, 2013 | post #1)

My correcting of your erroneous statement has nothing to do with OJ or winning, but only concerns your typical UCLA inablity to comprehend English, or to admit to your inablility to use it to make truthful statements, truth being an alien concept at UCLA.  (Mar 16, 2009 | post #29)

I guess wife means something different at UCLA. At USC a wife is someone you are married to. As OJ was not married at the time he was accused of murder, it is impossible for him to have murdered his wife. Just clearing that up for the Dude, et al.  (Mar 9, 2009 | post #27)

I've been looking at your and Rob's last few posts. I just don't have time to follow thousand post threads. Sorry. Maybe if I could get good handicapped parking spots like UCLA athletes I would have more time. I also have to polish my complete collection of Franklin Mint's annual USC porcelain Christmas ornaments, vacuum my indoor and outdoor USC doormats, dust my USC mugs and nicknacks, wash my 16 USC shirts, socks and sweater, some of which are more than 30 years old, dry off my USC golf umbrella, jog in my USC shorts, or sweats if it's cold, put on my USC gloves and cap, check my USC calendar, tapping the buttons that play THE Fight Song there and on my keychain, refrigerator magnets (both at home and work), shake the dust off the pom-poms I got at John Robinson's last Rose Bowl win which I keep in my 32 year old USC thermos (which is broken), put on my "Flush Twice, It's a Long Way to Westwood", "FUCLA", "SCruin the Bruins" buttons, and finally, wipe my bottom with my 500 sheet "UCLA" toilet tissue roll. And then I have to Save the Montebello Hills, too. As you can see, my appointment book is full.  (Feb 24, 2009 | post #258)

My mom sleeps very well knowing that Smith and Wesson and I are guarding this little corner of Montebello. She doesn't even wake up for the warning shots anymore.  (Feb 24, 2009 | post #257)

Maybe our Trojans would be in less combative mood if they could get to park in handicapped spaces like UCLA athletes. Having to park at the top of those high parking structures is enough to make anyone cranky.  (Feb 24, 2009 | post #25)

May I suggest a Dutch infirmary instead of a library? It takes time to recover from gender reassignment surgery.  (Feb 24, 2009 | post #256)

Recall effort begins on two Montebello Councilmembers

I can't comdemn a person because of their relatives. I have over 240 first through fourth cousins, uncles and aunts, great-uncles and great-aunts, nephews and neices just in Southern California. I know that not all are upstanding citizens, and some are even Democrats. To paraphrase Yoda, "Judge me by my family, would you? I should hope not."  (Feb 24, 2009 | post #22)

Chief, have I got a deal for you! I will trade you all your current substandard homelands like the Black Hills, Pechange, Morongo, Black Oaks, Lucky Bear, Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, and all the rest for some great bottom land in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, LA. I can guarantee you a steady water supply and strong ocean breezes. There are already fixer-upper houses there just waiting. I'll even throw in a truckload of shiny glass beads! Your squaw and little Chiefs will never let you forget much they love 'Nawlins'. Whaddya say?  (Feb 24, 2009 | post #254)

Did I forget to mention that I speak and write in languages other than English? 'Adieu' is the correct French spelling, not 'adiue' and 'Da svidanya kazyol' is the correct Russian transliteration. Why the second word is capitalized is unknown. If he meant to use Ukranian, which closely mimics Russian in this case, it's still wrongly transliterated. Why he is calling you a billy goat in Russian is anyone's guess. My Slovar' Russkovo Rugatlstva(Diction aty of Russian Vulgarities, 1st ed.) doesn't list any nasty meaning to this word. He is definitely using some kind of translation software, as the Russian is a letter by letter substitution, but as everyone knows, in actual pronunciation Slavic non-stressed vowels are phase shifted. The 'sayonara' is a poor transliteration, but has become accepted in some circles because of its ubiquity. Did I also forget to mention that some say that my tendency to proofread is slightly compulsive?  (Feb 24, 2009 | post #253)

I've never said I was white or a man. I am like Shrodinger's cat: Until you peek in the cat's box, I have an equal probability of either being male or female, white, yellow, brown, or even a fellow red. Besides, to quote an obscure movie line, 'You don't have to trust me, you have to pay me.'  (Feb 23, 2009 | post #241)
