Yes, you are correct Dean. Just look how great everything was in December 2008. 1. War missions completed, troops home with their families 2. Economy booming, no recession in sight. 3. Borders secured, Immigration plan in place. 4. Health care costs under control, all Americans with affordable health care plans. 5. Social Security on the road toward solvency. 6. Public Education system improved, test scores improved considerably. 7. An alternative energy plan in place and oil dependence at all time low! 8. Housing market in it's best condition ever 9. Could not recall one news source that she reads on a regular basis? Got confused called Africa a Country? I think you need to go back and find the post, and see that you are mistaken. I am a disability advocate and work with PWDs on a regular basis. Now there are some PWDs that game the system, make unrealistic demands on others, and so much more which does have a negative impact on the disability community in general. Kind of like what Blacks have had to deal with because PWDs are a minority as well, and they have gone through many of the same civil rights issues that other minorities have had to endure. It was not until 1990 that the Americans with Disabilities Act was passed into law and the first ADA official Registers were published in 1991. Prior to that PWDs had few public accommodations that allowed them to live normal lives. Since then, there has been some progress, but like other civil rights issues, there is still a lot more progress to be made. Other developed countries, as with so many things, are way ahead of the United States in the area of accessibility for people with disabilities e.g. accessible public pathways, transportation systems, and other areas. As far as jobs for PWDs, 83% of people with PWDs in America today, are either underemployed or not employed at all, and the main reason is that employers see their disabilities, rather than their "abilities. " Finally, Ted Kennedy was one of the most active disability advocates that ever held office. He was the driving force behind the ADA legislation. I write all of this from my own mind, I am not what you think, when it comes to People with DisabilitiesOf course I hated that, but hardly a reason to invade the country of IRAQ. The good thing was that he was not successful. Other successful presidential or political assassinations in America were committed by American Citizens were they not?  (8 hrs ago | post #31251)
