Irish Parades in Chicago

Most crop failures, are due to biological or weather issues. The Potato Blight was also attributed to being a significant factor in The Potato Famine. Sounds like they knew a thing or two about the Blues.  (Mar 25, 2010 | post #30)

Mavis Staples brings blues-gospel-soul mix to Bass Hall

Mavis is another one who is awesome to see live. Gotta love "I'll Take You There" and the rest of "Hope At The Hideout."  (Mar 25, 2010 | post #2)

Uncle Bub's Celebrates Anniversary by Giving Back

Ah, Dick, that is a shame. Fortunately, your experience is not consistent with the family of 6 visits that we take monthly. As to the help, local or not, they are always polite, efficient, and friendly. The Manager's were competent and the food was an excellent value. And of course someone always visits the table. The intent of the original article was about the Owner giving back, out of Thanksgiving to what he had been given. Such inspirational stories from those in our community, are worth sharing. So often the negativity that seems to thrive in message boards, written by people who have personal agendas, seem to take up the focus.  (Feb 28, 2010 | post #3)

Blues Artists to Represent Chicago at The IBC

Eh, not sure what you mean by email.... I don't believe I sent any. As to DG specifically, no. I do Blues Nationally, Internationally and Virtually. However, if I come across something I would be happy to send it. Are you the main media contact person at Windy City?  (Nov 19, 2009 | post #4)

Blues Artists to Represent Chicago at The IBC

Thanks again BlackJack, I did receive your message under another forum. Fortunately, when typed into google it is fixed automatically. I guess my internal editor was out of ram after that great event. If you are on myspace or facebook and we are friends, please know I have received your message  (Nov 17, 2009 | post #2)

Blues Artists to Represent Chicago at The IBC

Chicago could be proud in sending any of the musicians who performed tonight! Several are sure to become favorites. Most have CD's. Anyone else go?  (Nov 16, 2009 | post #1)

Even Buddy Guy sings the blues when it comes to radio play

Interesting point, Travis. What is your opinion of Kenny Wayne Shepherd or Fiona Boyes?  (Nov 15, 2009 | post #6)

Even Buddy Guy sings the blues when it comes to radio play

Buddy Boy, as a classic rocker who obviously has good taste in guitarists, you might enjoy this. Where did Cream, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones and many others got their influences from? The old cliche is... The Blues had a baby, and they named it Rock and Roll. Check out B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Vaughn on You Tube.
