You are misinformed. Google the stats. ================== ======== African Americans benefit from Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law at a rate far out of proportion to their presence in the state’s population, despite an assertion by Attorney General Eric Holder that repealing “Stand Your Ground” would help African Americans. Black Floridians have made about a third of the state’s total “Stand Your Ground” claims in homicide cases, a rate nearly double the black percentage of Florida’s population. The majority of those claims have been successful, a success rate that exceeds that for Florida whites Read more: http://dailycaller .com/2013/07/16/bl acks-benefit-from- florida-stand-your -ground-law-at-dis proportionate-rate /#ixzz2guUsWIbn So much for your race card deck.  (Oct 5, 2013 | post #192599)

You are off on your history. Caesar Chavez advocated for better working conditions for legal migrant workers as well as for the Americans who worked in the fields. He advocated against illegal Mexicans and protested down at our southern border of which Martin Luther King Jr also protested with Caesar Chavez to stop the illegal migration. Those American field workers and legal migrants had a legal right to fair labor practices and good working conditions as they are today. It went to hell when the illegals were allowed to migrate here illegally.  (Oct 3, 2013 | post #191763)

Not true. His cut and paste is read by several of us. It contains a vast array of information. Try it sometime.  (Sep 28, 2013 | post #188750)

I disagree. With freedom of choice comes responsibility. What you were and are suggesting is to take the risk of consequence. When choice is exercised it does not just affect the person. It affects a group which leads to affecting a nation. We are in a sad state of affairs and widely divided. I do not take our freedoms lightly and I do not play tit for tat with freedom of choice to make a point if that is what you are doing. I guess we just live different types of lives. I'm not a radical or an extremist, and my life is not a riddle.  (Sep 27, 2013 | post #188654)

No they are not different. Tax payers are not paying for your car insurance. ACA at the bronze level is not going to cover the injuries, hospitalization, rehab and maybe more from a car accident. If people cannot afford insurance for their vehicles they should not be driving them. There is public transportation at affordable prices and there are also bicycles. That is the problem. People don't have money so they want the tax payers and the responsible to pay for them. I support having all needed insurance. I do not support mandated health care though. That's personal. The other types of insurance covers the other guy so he or she do not have to suffer the financial hardship of repairs or injuries. You don't have to have full coverage that would also cover you. You do have that choice. Everybody wants a piece of the pie but not everybody wants to pay for their piece.  (Sep 27, 2013 | post #188584)

The reason they mandated car insurance is because people weren't buying it and when they caused the accident too many were getting stuck for the repairs. I have no problems and want every driver insured. It's not that simple and every injury does not need to turn into a disability which then you will have half the population on disability. I don't like substandard work. I don't want to have a house stapled together because of getting rid of WIC or lowered OSHA regulations. There's a reason and purpose for insurances which requires oversight.  (Sep 27, 2013 | post #188561)

What has caused the unemployment? Government interference comes to mind. People need to work. Many choose not to.  (Sep 27, 2013 | post #188467)

How is the current system breaking the country? Because it is allowing non paying persons to receive free care? Ignoring the cause that is bankrupting our systems is not going to improve or be fixed by developing another program. A program that is destined to fail as it is no more affordable than the current system for those who couldn't afford it yesterday. Those of you who support it what is your problem with admitting you are for socialism?  (Sep 27, 2013 | post #188451)

Thanks. No I do not think we should do away with WCI. If an employee gets injured on the job he or she is entitled to benefits without it being a cost to them. It also assist the laws put into place for safe working conditions which does not always happen. An area that needs more scrutiny and oversight imo. No I do not support ending any social service programs that provide assistance to children or anyone in need of a helping hand. If people can't afford to have children they shouldn't have them. But they do. Can't stop that. I do think however there needs to be reform in those programs. I do not support the free meals in school. Most of it goes into the trash and to those who are here illegally. Illegal aliens and their children have no rights or "entitlements " to our social services that were devised for our citizens. Yet they get them. That needs to stop. I'm not familiar with the acronym PIP.  (Sep 27, 2013 | post #188436)

CG is misleading as well as being dishonest in his intentions. He is confusing types of insurances people, companies and institution must have. ACA is not the same insurance he is trying to pass off with the professions he has listed. Freedom of choice belongs within the constraints of the law. Your statement gives criminals the approval to step outside of the law as it is their freedom to rob, rape or murder. It also gives corruption of corporations and politicians the same free ticket that you are suggesting here to step outside of the law.  (Sep 27, 2013 | post #188415)

Hahahaha. Most of those professions are covered under the umbrella of the institutions or company's malpractice or workers compensation insurance. It is not health care insurance. It has nothing to do with the ACA. It has to do with protecting the consumer, the employee and the employer.  (Sep 27, 2013 | post #188403)
