It's funny that you mention that as the owners of the Tootsie Roll company utilize the pharmacy I work at. The gentleman who handles their personal business is a really nice guy and when I saw this picture floating around online, he had no idea that this was making the rounds. Speaking of which, do you know that if you write the Tootsie Roll company telling them how many licks it took for you to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, they'll send you a certificate? For what it's worth, I do not use artificial methods of birth control anymore. I used the Rhythm Method. It wasn't a method I was able to use many years ago when I first met my SO but as I got older, my cycle became more regular so I choose to use that now. Granted, it's not a method that every woman can use and I wouldn't recommend it unless you're extremely open to having more children. I haven't experience pregnancy since the last time I was pregnant, which was in 1994, but I am not opposed to having another child, even though we're not actively trying for one, which is why the RM is a great method for me. Anyways, the way I feel is that women should research all methods of birth control and utilize the one that's right for them because not all methods are "one size fits all". I truly believe that we should be responsible for ourselves, however, personal responsibility is very subjective and that includes reproductive choices. When it comes to pregnancy, some women feel that keeping and raising the child is being responsible. Some feel that giving a child up for adoption is responsible. Some feel having an abortion is responsible. When it comes to actually having children, for some women, having no children is responsible. For others, having 1 or 2 is responsible. Yet there are women who feel having LOTS of children is the responsible thing to do. Personally, I would not have an abortion or give up a child for adoption. I would not have more than 3 children(although at my age, I feel I am done after one). However, I can accept that my choices and what I feel is responsible for *me* may not be acceptable nor responsible for someone else. I would never dictate to a woman what she should do, when it comes to something so personal as reproductive issues, and I would not want anyone to dictate to me as to what I should do. As far as men and pregnancy goes, even without abortion, they're given a pass. Men aren't the ones who get pregnant and regardless if a woman keeps her pregnancy or aborts it, a man isn't bound nor can be forced to be a part of pregnancy. Hell, there's no guarantee that years down the road that a man won't up and pack his shit and pretend he didn't father a child. Unfortunately, it happens all the time. When I found out I was pregnant when I was 18, I wasn't involved with my sons father at that point. I informed him of my pregnancy and I was going to keep and raise my child regardless if he was involved or not. He was not a factor at all in my decision to keep and raise my child. I'm happy that he, and his family, chose to be involved and even though we've both moved on and are in relationships with other people, I'm glad we get along great and were able to put our differences aside for the sake of our son.  (Yesterday | post #297535)

Birth control doesn't do any of those things. You give WAY too much power to medication. I have used artificial methods of birth control in the past. Rose, her malfunction is that she dislikes anyone who doesn't think and feel EXACTLY as she does. She's not being defensive, she's being OFFENSIVE. She does more harm to her own cause and the sad part is, she doesn't even realize it. There's a reason why you don't see PL folks come to her defense. There's many PL folks on here. You, GTown, Sassy, Lily, Doc, Sue, Ink and a few others who escape my mind right now. Very rarely do they ever speak out on her behalf and I don't blame them.
