Kate Jonasee, a student at West End Aikido , is now embarking on her second annual car give-away. Her automotive shop, K-Tech Automotive, located a block from downtown Sebastopol and next to the Sebastopol Arts Center and Ives Park, has found a wonderful way to give back to the community .

Those of you who have read my articles for a while know I am a big proponent of Low Impact Aikido -a no-rolling, no-falling form of Aikido for people with physical limitations.

In Takemusu Aikido, students learn throws, locks and pins as well as combat with an Aiki Ken and Aiki Jo while all practice takes place with a partner.

Aikido Kenkyukai Santa Barbara , Santa Barbara's premiere nonprofit Aikido organization, will again be hosting the internationally acclaimed Aikido instructor Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan for a five-day Summer Aikido Seminar, an extension, at Ikeda's request, from the 2012 seminar's three-day length.

The third workshop on this fruitful intersection of Aikido & Psychotherapy is coming up soon.

When: Saturday, May 4, 5 to 7 p.m., continuing on the first and third Thursdays of the month.
