Four locations in Kentucky sold $50,000 winning Powerball tickets, meaning the tickets missed the $900 million jackpot by just one number on Saturday. Bill Thompson, store director at Meijer in Richmond, said his location was one of the four that sold the tickets and that he is expecting to sell a few more tickets between now and Wednesday's drawing. After stronger-than-expected sales pushed the Mega Millions jackpot to an estimated $260 million , a lucky ticket holder in Illinois reaped the benefit by matching all six numbers drawn on June 2 - the white balls 2, 9, 11, 22 and 23, plus the gold Mega Ball 12. It is the fourth time the jackpot has been won this year. Another Illinois player took home $265 million on January 16, and New Yorkers claimed back-to-back jackpots on February 27 and March 24 .
