When the fateful Powerball drawing is made on Wednesday night, hundreds of thousands of Coloradans will be clutching their tickets, hoping to score some or all of an eye-popping jackpot sum of $301 million. As of noon on Tuesday, 320,194 Powerball tickets for Wednesday's drawing had been sold, according to records kept by the Colorado Lottery. Comment?

Since Colorado joined the Powerball in 2001, there have been two jackpot winners -- a man in Rifle won a $90 million jackpot last year and two couples won $20 million in 2007. While that seems low, six people did win a million dollars or more during the last fiscal year, July 2013-June 2014. Comment?

We looked at the statistics for winners, over $10,000, in the last three years and we asked the Colorado Lottery for help. Lottery officials said three retailers on the Front Range, all of them King Soopers stores, have sold multiple winning tickets. Comment?
