In an unfortunate incident at a Dunkin' Donuts restaurant in West Hartford last weekend, a young crew member exhibited poor judgment with a comment directed at a local police officer in line in our store. The franchisee who owns and operates the restaurant immediately apologized to the officer and the department as a whole on behalf of our brand. Comment?

Instead of reacting negatively after a Dunkin' Donuts employee jokingly refused to serve one of their own , the West Hartford local police offered positive comments to the store through social media. Last Saturday, at the Dunkin' Donuts at 1234 Farmington Ave., a police officer was waiting in line when an employee loudly said in front of a long queue of customers, "He didn't get the message, we don't serve cops here." A gunshot victim at a local hospital told police early Thursday morning that two men approached his parked vehicle on Arbor Street and fired "multiple shots" at him, and police later found the vehicle with 11 bulletholes. Police said they responded to St. Francis Hospital at approximately 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning for a reported gunshot victim. Comment?

The Hartford Club will be able to stay in its longtime Prospect Street home thanks to an agreement announced Tuesday between the legendary city institution and Berkshire Bank. The deal allows the club, founded in to 1873, to sell most of its existing mortgage debt to 1873 Group LLC, a group of 40 members, with the rest covered by local philanthropists Alan Lazowski and Henry M.
