DA continues review of two fatal auto accidents

District Attorney Geoff Rushlau is awaiting additional information to determine whether charges are necessary in two unrelated fatal auto accidents that killed two people this year. The investigation results of a March 20 head-on collision on Route 1 in Warren that killed driver Alison Low, 38, were turned over to the District Attorney's office for review in May. Samuel Simmons, 18, of Spruce Head, was driving in the opposite direction, when his truck crossed the center line and hit Low's vehicle, a Subaru Forester that carried two passengers, Dustin Kimball and Olivia Blachet, then age 18. Blachet and Kimball were both hospitalized at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
