Municipal and county governments throughout the Tii-County area stand to benefit from an $11.5 million lawsuit the State of Ohio settled last June with Morton Salt, Inc. and Cargill, Inc. At that time, the state accused the two companies of establishing a mutually beneficial, informal, non-compete agreement, thereby inflating prices for three years, from July, 2008 to July, 2009. As a consequence, the state alleged in its lawsuit, state and local governments overpaid for road salt, paying rates that were substantially above market. Comment?

West Ohio Food Bank, a United Way of Van Wert County agency, will be bringing its mobile food pantry to distribute food as part of the 2015 United Way Day of Caring. Several employees from Eaton Corporation have volunteered to help with the set up and distribution of the food items as their Day of Caring service project. Comment?

The new ERV was on display at Eaton Corporation during the afternoon for a presentation and tours of the unit which was donated by Eaton and outfitted by Braun Ambulances. "We want to thank our partners and our friends from Eaton and Braun for this phenomenal resource," Red Cross West Central Ohio interim Executive Director Todd James said. Comment?
