Rep. Peter DeFazio introduced legislation into the U.S. House of Representatives Friday to create a steelhead sanctuary in Douglas County, and name it after World War II veteran and legendary fly fisherman Frank Moore of Idleyld Park. The Frank Moore Wild Steelhead Sanctuary Act of 2016, H.R. 6129, would set aside 100,000 acres of land in the Steamboat Creek Watershed in the Umpqua National Forest for salmon preservation. Comment?
