SECAUCUS -- Hartz Mountain Industries has sold a retail and office complex here for $64 million, the Record of Bergen County reported on its website today. The Plaza at Harmon Meadow , which includes a 14-screen Kerasotes movie theater, a convention center and a number of hotels and restaurants, was purchased by the Carlton Group, a New York City-based international real estate investment banking firm, the Record reported. The town council and Mayor Michael Gonnelli have come out in support of nine union workers in their battle against a contractor they say is engaging in union-busting tactics. The council passed a resolution Tuesday night to aid the former custodial workers of an office building at 300 Lighting Way who lost their jobs last July after Rugby Realty bought the property from Hartz Mountain for $18 million.
