ROBBINSVILLE - With employment numbers at the Amazon.com distribution center in Robbinsville nearing 2,000 workers , officials expect the ZLine shuttle bus to the facility to remain busy. The free ZLine bus, a project coordinated by the Greater Mercer Transportation Management Association, Mercer County and Robbinsville Township, has made about 50,000 trips since July 2014 between Hamilton Marketplace on Route 130 and the warehouse complex in Robbinsville, according to GMTMA statistics. The latest hiring spree comes just one month after the company announced it was hiring an additional 800 employees for the 1.2-million square foot warehouse just off the New Jersey Turnpike and I-195. Like most of the jobs at the Robbinsville warehouse, the company is hiring workers who will pick, pack and ship customer orders, filling positions that were created "in order to meet growing customer demand," the company said in announcing the openings. With Memorial Day on the horizon, many stores are getting ready to hold big, annual sales, but Robbinsville has one of the best bargains in the state to offer its residents, year-round: Its school system. Among 266 school districts in New Jersey, the township was recently ranked sixth best "bang for your buck" school system in the state by the San Francisco-based consumer advocacy website NerdWallet.
