The director of community development for the town and village of Canton says she's looking forward to continuing a partnership with Massena and other municipalities as part of an effort to develop a blueway trail to help promote tourism along the Grasse River. Linda M. McQuinn told Massena Town Council members during their recent meeting that she had been working with Thomas Sullivan, executive director of the Business Development Corporation for a Greater Massena, and Donald Meissner, the town of Massena's sport fishing promotion director, in the effort. I wish to offer my sincere thanks to everyone involved in the dedication of Potsdam Central School's track in my honor. I was most appreciative of what was said about my silent ministry as a coach and its impact on “my boys.” Using student coaches, we focused on each person becoming all he was capable of becoming and on helping each other do the same. While weekend brunchers last week toasted the end to the blue law that prohibited restaurants from serving booze before noon on Sunday, New Yorkers are still saddled with dozens of anachronistic laws that today seem staggeringly stupid. Gotham residents aren't even aware of half the ancient laws they might be breaking every day - especially those who dabble in puppetry, hang laundry, eat ice cream or flirt. Comment?
