Lompoc's second-annual Restaurant Week returns to town Monday through next Saturday and is designed to entice both tourists and locals to sample restaurants they might not otherwise be able to afford. Lompoc's Steve Byork, owner with his family of Sissy's Uptown Caf on South I Street, said Restaurant Week "is a great opportunity for people on tighter budgets to go out and experience fine dining." When the Lompoc Valley Historical Society put out a plea for help rescuing a local landmark, offers were quick and plentiful. Karen Paaske, president of the Historical Society, made her plea on Facebook for help removing and relocating the "Hi! Let's Eat" sign, she quickly received responses of people with the heavy equipment to get the job done. Comment?

C.A.R.E.4Paws will host a low-cost pet vaccine clinic for Santa Barbara pet owners 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at Eastside Neighborhood Park, corner of Yanonali and Soledad streets. Community members can get rabies vaccines for their dogs and cats for $5, while other vaccines, microchips, flea medication and deworming treatment cost $10. Comment?
