Voxx International Corp. got $10 million to help it build a new $16.5 million headquarters and manufacturing facility in Lake Nona. The automobile equipment maker on June 30 got the green light from the Orange County Commission for $10 million in county industrial development revenue bonds to go toward building and equipping its new 125,000-square-foot, built-to-suit complex. On June 17, Cisco Systems CEO John Chambers and incoming CEO Chuck Robbins gathered with leaders and government agency officials in China to unveil a $10 billion initiative that includes "renewed commitment" and agreements with the Chinese government to expand partnerships, research, investments in "next-generation" Chinese technology, and spur job creation, according to the company. A Canadian drug company could employ more than 100 people in Suffolk County by 2018 if its plans for two buildings once used by another pharmaceutical business go through, officials said Thursday. Ropack Inc. of Montreal wants to manufacture, package and test drugs at 49 Mall Dr. in Commack and 155 Commerce Dr. in Hauppauge. Comment?

Ropack, a Montreal-based pharmaceutical company, seeks tax breaks of more than $3 million as it plans to purchase two Forest Laboratories' facilities on Long Island. Ropack applied with the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency on Thursday for a sales tax exemption, mortgage recording tax exemption and a 15 year PILOT tax abatement, starting at 50 percent for year one and decreasing by 3 percent per year for the balance of the 15 year term, totally $3.4 million in property tax savings.
