Dollar Tree Inc. said Thursday it will complete its $9.2 billion acquisition of Family Dollar stores on Monday after federal regulators approved an agreement to meet antitrust concerns. The Federal Trade Commission announced Thursday that it had signed off on a plan for Chesapeake-based Dollar Tree to sell 330 Family Dollar stores in 35 states to avoid reducing competition. Comment?

In a return to the Hampton Roads market, Richmond area-based Lingerfelt CommonWealth Partners has acquired a 1.3 million-square-foot office/flex portfolio from Liberty Property Trust for $110.3 million. Area real estate agents may have found it harder to close home sales last month, according to a recent report. Virginia Beach-based Real Estate Information Network Inc. , which tracks and researches housing trends across Hampton Roads, reported 478 new and existing home sales across the Peninsula in May. That's about a 12.9 percent decrease from 549 homes sold in May 2014. Comment?

Navy contractor AMSEC LLC, a Virginia Beach-based subsidiary of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is upgrading its 62,000-square-foot Hampton facility with the help of a grant from the Hampton Economic Development Authority. AMSEC, an information technology and technical services provider, renewed its lease in the Offices at NetCenter on Mercury Boulevard and plans to begin renovations this fall, according to the news release.
