Austintown Township police are investigating two cases of elderly residents being cheated out of thousands of dollars through a telephone scam. According to police reports, an 80-year-old woman told police that she received a phone call on Monday from a woman claiming to be officer Nancy Bradshaw of the Penfield, Ohio police department. Comment?

The owner of two BP convenience stores in the township has filed plans to build a Tim Hortons cafe and bake shop at the current locations of the stores. Documents filed with the township zoning office by Express Fuel Properties of Youngstown, seek permits to build a Hortons quick service at the corner of Mahoning Avenue and Meridian Road. Comment?
