    St. John's beats Gonzaga, 30-7, to win the WCAC foot...

    Antwain Littleton of St. John's dives in for a third-quarter touchdown during the Cadets' 30 - 7 win over Gonzaga in the WCAC football championship game on Saturday. St. John's Coach Joe Casamento has told his football team maybe too many times, "it's about us," a mantra that was on the verge of becoming stale, until the Cadets won their first Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship on Saturday.

    18 Woodson HS football players suspended from Turkey...

    Eighteen D.C. high school football players aren't permitted to play in the marquee Turkey Bowl game this year after their involvement in an on-field brawl with Eastern Senior High School players during a Nov. 11 game. Eighteen H.D. Woodson High School students and several Eastern Senior High School students were suspended for one game after engaging in a fight on the field during a Nov. 11 football game.

    With private school conference championships wrapped up, focus turned this week to D.C. and Maryland state tournaments. This past Saturday, the District of Columbia State Athletic Association - which includes both public and private schools from within the District - hosted its state championships at Georgetown University.

    The Redskins' brutal 2017 schedule has already taken them to places they've never won and places they've never lost during the regular season .
