    Schools in Classes 3A and 2A voted to approve best-of-three games baseball series for their second-round and quarterfinal playoffs, effective this spring, during Thursday afternoon class meetings at the LHSAA's annual convention. The votes put those classes in line with Classes 5A and 4A, which previously had the best-of-three format option.

    Judging by their efforts in the first three games of this year's district slate, it's hard to imagine the Hornets will have their run of dominance in league action stopped anytime soon. Scotlandville improved to 3-0 in District 4-5A play Tuesday night with another rout, this one an 87-29 triumph at Walker as the Hornets handed the Wildcats their first district loss.

    Walker quarterback Terry Bozeman pledged Saturday to the Boll Weevils after amassing 5,270 yards with his arm the past two seasons. The Wildcats' 6-foot-2, 200-pound standout completed 359 of his 618 attempts in that span for 52 touchdowns and 27 interceptions, improving his TD-to-INT ratio from 26-to-19 as a junior to 26-to-8 as a senior.

    For the second time in as many District 4-5A games, the Walker High School boys basketball team found themselves in a tightly contested battle when the final clutch moments arrived. Walker improved to 2-0 in district play Friday night at Live Oak when Le Davis knocked down a 3-pointer from the left wing with two seconds remaining for a 51-49 victory.
