    Freshman guard Tejon Williams posted season highs of 28 points and 16 rebounds on Saturday night, leading SBCC to an 85-80 upset of first-place Cuesta in a WSC North men's basketball game in San Luis Obispo. Evan Tillman, a 6-8 freshman forward, added 21 points and six rebounds.

    Mani's 24 Points Not Enough for Dos Pueblos

    Mounir Mani scored 24 points, but Dos Pueblos fell to Ventura, 70-53, in a Channel League boys basketball game on Wednesday night. The Chargers drop to 1-4 in league and 15-10 overall.

    Providence tuned up for its Condor League title showdown with Laguna Blanca by routing Midland, 67-29, in boys basketball on Wednesday. Providence was led by sophomore Bryan Sheets who had 18 points and 5 assists.

    Mandrell's Goal Gives San Marcos a Channel League vi...

    Andy Mandrell scored in the second half, and San Marcos ended its victory drought in Channel League boys soccer by getting a 2-1 win against Buena on Tuesday. It was the first league win for the Royals since 2012, and the first for coach Daniel Torres, who took over the team this season.

    San Marcos Stumbles at Ventura

    Down by two points with five seconds left, Tyson Miller of the Royals had a good look on a 3-pointer but the shot didn't fall. Scott Everman and Kele Mkpado each scored 13 points and Ryan McCarthy added 11 for San Marcos, which was held to only four points in the fourth quarter.

    Early foul trouble hurt Carpinteria in a 59-49 loss to St. Bonaventure in a Tri-Valley League boys basketball game on Friday night. Center Brandon Jordan picked up his third four midway through the second quarter and had to come out of the game.

    Brown's Return Gives Dons a Boost in Rout of Buena

    Ben Brown returned to the Santa Barbara High lineup and immediately got into the flow, burying four 3-pointers to help the CIF-SS 2A Division top-ranked Dons rout Buena, 79-49, in a Channel League boys basketball game on Friday night at J.R. Richards Gym. Brown, who sat out Wednesday night's game to rest a sprained ankle, scored 12 points in a balanced Santa Barbara attack.

    Santa Barbara's Firepower Too Much for Buena

    Amber Melgoza poured in 37 points and Alondra Jimenez added 19, leading Santa Barbara High to a 76-41 Channel League girls basketball win over Buena on Thursday at J.R. Richards Gym. The Dons blew the game open in the second quarter, outscoring Buena 20-11 to take a 36-21 lead.

    Ventura Shuts Down Melgoza, Dons, 50-42

    Santa Barbara High will have to wait until the second round to try and beat Ventura in a Channel League girls basketball game. The Dons suffered a 50-42 loss to the reigning league champions at Bob Tuttle Gym on Thursday.
