    Lancers battle past Archers

    Tuesday night's Antwerp at Lincolnview girls basketball non-league clash inside the Lancerdome was a defensive battle, to say the least. "When we needed to hit them we did; we started out slowly from the line in this game but at crunch time, we made them," Lincolnview head coach Dan Williamson explained.

    Jackson sets school record as Lady Cougars rout Paul...

    After an icy shooting performance Saturday at Lincolnview , Van Wert came out red-hot at Paulding Tuesday night and ran away with a 60-29 victory. The Lady Cougars are now 4-10 while the Lady Panthers fall to 3-11.

    The Lincolnview schedule to date has been packed with strong opponents. Saturday night the Lancers beat one of those talented teams, edging Miller City in a 55-53 thriller that was full of drama, start to finish.

    Lady Lancers squeeze past Van Wert

    The meeting between the Van Wert Lady Cougars and Lincolnview Lady Lancers at Lincolnview High School Saturday afternoon went exactly how one would expect a game between county rivals to go: a hard-fought game decided in the final moments. Ultimately, in a game full of runs, the Lady Lancers saved their best for last and converted a seven-point fourth quarter swing into a 39-33 win.

    In Friday night's thriller at Lappin Gymnasium, the Cougars missed a slew of big shots - from the field and from the line - allowing Shawnee to escape with a 64-57 overtime win. Van Wert is now 5-5 overall and 1-2 in the Western Buckeye League.

    Pirate pair sinks Lincolnview

    Lincolnview head coach Dan Williamson had a plan for Thursday's Northwest Conference game against Bluffton: limit the scoring of Lady Pirate super sub Alivia Koenig. His Lady Lancers did well in that task, but lost track of two other Pirates on too many occasions in a 50-44 Bluffton win.

    Lady Cougars make it 2 straight wins; cruise past Sh...

    The Van Wert Lady Cougar basketball team got a big non-conference win against Spencerville on Monday and continued that momentum right into Thursday's contest against the visiting Lima Shawnee Indians at Van Wert High School. The Lady Cougars methodically picked apart the Lady Indian offense and put up an impressive 57 shots on the evening, rolling to a 65-51 Western Buckeye League victory.

    Rally too little, too late for Lady Lancers

    The Lincolnview Lady Lancers made the short trip north to Kalida on Tuesday night to take on the Lady Wildcats in girls non-conference hoops. The Wildcats got a 3-pointer from Lauren Langhals before the Lady Lancers got three made fouls shots, one from Katlyn Wendel and two from Alena Looser, to tie the game at 3-3.

    When the teams got together for a Northwest Conference battle at the Barnyard at Lincolnview on Friday, however, it was the Lancers who looked like the veteran team. "We wanted to control the paint, and I felt we did that," Lincolnview head coach Brett Hammons said.

    Kaufman, Titans outlast Cougars in overtime, 67-63

    It was an old-fashioned, Western Buckeye League grudge match between Ottawa-Glandorf and Van Wert inside the Cougar Den at Van Wert High School Friday evening - even taking an extra period to decide. The Titans, and particularly junior forward Jay Kaufman, proved to be too much for the Cougars, however, and the visitors held on for a 67-63 overtime win.
