    Bowie looks back on good season

    After an absence of nearly a decade, Bowie High School returned to the postseason on Friday night against Prince George's County Class 4A League rival Henry A. Wise. Bowie's aspirations of a return to glory quickly faded as Wise ended the Bulldogs' campaign with a 42-8 victory in the Class 4A South Region semifinals.

    Bowie setting its sights high

    Christiana DuBose and her Bowie volleyball teammates have won 20 straight matches without dropping a set this season. The opened the Class 4A region playoffs with a sweep of Henry A. Wise on Monday.

    Douglass withdraws from the football playoffs

    Douglass' football team has withdrawn from the regional playoffs, according to Andy Warner, executive director of the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association . The Ducks were seeded fourth in the Class 3A North and were scheduled to play at top-seeded and defending state champion Franklin Friday night, but an apparent violation of MPSSAA rules has forced them to pull out.
