    The host Eagles, winners of the last two meets on the girls side, ran away with their third straight title, racking up 198 points, more than double that of runnerup Land O'Lakes with 96.5. Osceola was third with 71.5. The Countryside boys, after edging Land O'Lakes by one point last season, improved dramatically on their mark, scoring 187 to Land O'Lakes' 114. Osceola was third with 74, and East Lake placed fourth with 71.5. The Eagles, known for their middle- and long-distance prowess, got a big lift from sprinter Cieanna Nichols.

With an 80-42 blowout win, Tarpon Springs will host Gainesville Eastside - a one-point winner over Ocala Lake Weir - Saturday night in the Class 5A region finals.
