    School funding has been a central point of conflict throughout the legislative session, with the Democratic-led Senate seeking to provide more new dollars than the Republican-controlled House for the 2015-2016 academic year. The two sides are about $50 million apart on funding.

    Motorcycles roar through Siouxland in honor of POW-M...

    This weekend, people across the nation are remembering those who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving our county.In Siouxland on Sunday, a massive group of American Legion and Patriot Guard Motorcycle Riders roared through the streets in honor of those military members taken as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action. About 100 motorcycles, with American Flags flying high, rumbled their way from the Tyson Events Center to the Vietnam Veterans Wall at Siouxland Freedom Park in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

    Damaged buildings, homes being taken down in Delmont...

    Damaged buildings and homes in the town of Delmont are being taken down as cleanup continues in the town hit earlier this month by a tornado. Officials say citizens and volunteers are clearing away debris caused by the May 10 tornado.

    Storm Lake Police Dept. searching for armed suspect

    Storm Lake Police is asking the public's assistance in locating an armed suspect from an armed robbery which occurred last night. On the evening of Friday, May 22, 2015, at approximately 7:56pm, the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to 109 East 3rd Street in reference to an armed robbery in progress.

    Officials say diesel fuel spills into Storm Lake, Iowa

    Diesel fuel has accidentally spilled into Storm Lake in northern Iowa, but officials say it's a small amount that's not expected to affect wildlife or recreational use. Julie Sievers with the state Department of Natural Resources says the spill occurred briefly Friday as officials with the city of Storm Lake added fuel into an apparatus that pumps excess soil from the lake bed.
