    Neuqua Valley blows past Wheaton North

    There were some adjustments that had to be made, but the Neuqua Valley boys tennis team braved the terrible weather to earn a victory. The Wildcats, playing only their second dual match of the year on Wednesday thanks to several rain and snow cancellations, remained undefeated after shutting out visiting Wheaton North 9-0 "It was the worst possible tennis weather," said Neuqua Valley coach Trudy Bennorth.

    BATAVIA – To say St. Charles East softball has gotten off to a strong start to the season would be an understatement. The Saints were back in action Monday and used an offensive outburst in the second inning to beat Batavia, 15-7, to stay unbeaten in Upstate Eight Conference River Division play.

    St. Charles North outlasts Bartlett

    Bartlett and St. Charles North were not scheduled to meet in one of the four crossover baseball games Upstate Eight Conference teams play each season, but they got together on Friday anyhow. Fortunately for host Bartlett, St. Charles North's 14-9 nonconference victory didn't hurt the Hawks' first-place status in the UEC Valley.

    St. Edward hoping to defend Chicagoland Challenge title

    One of the challenges for all the teams involved in the tournament will be depth. It's ACT testing day and even though the first round of the three-game format won't start until noon, several teams will be missing key players for at least a part of their first game.
