    On Thursday night, the Ukiah High boys basketball team travelled to Santa Rosa to face Cardinal Newman for the second time this season. Despite the heavy presence of the Cardinal's sixth man on their home court, the Wildcats walked away victorious again - finishing with a hard fought final score of 54-49 over their Sonoma County hosts.

    Wildcats shake off loss to Windsor, prepare for Monty

    Wednesday evening, the Wildcats kicked off the second half of play in the North Bay League with their return face off against Windsor High. The Jaguars hosted this match up and ended the evening with a win over Ukiah High of 56-38; a closer game than the 70-47 Wildcats loss in early Jan. The Jaguars are currently the powerhouse leaders of the league with zero losses in league play and only three losses in their overall season.

    Sonoma hoopers pilfered by Prospectors

    SOPHOMORE MAX GUSTAFSON scored 17 points but the Sonoma Dragons fell to Piner 59-55 in overtime last Thursday in Pfeiffer Gym. For the second time in the first half of the 12-game Sonoma County League season, the Sonoma Valley High School varsity basketball boys were handed a heartbreaking overtime loss to one of the top SCL teams.

    Karlsson goes off for 31, Cougars beat Roseland Prep

    UPPER LAKE >> The Upper Lake Cougars bounced back into the North Central League II win column with a hard-fought 58-54 victory over Roseland Prep of Santa Rosa in varsity girls' basketball action on Friday night in Upper Lake. After falling out of the league's unbeaten ranks with a 45-34 loss to undefeated Sonoma Academy on Tuesday, Upper Lake improved to 5-1 in the NCL II standings and 10-8 overall behind 31 points from junior guard Natalie Karlsson, who is 43 shy of 1,000 for her career.
