    Providence Edges Laguna Blanca to Capture First Cond...

    The Providence boys basketball team made program history on Saturday, winning its first Condor League championship with a 52-50 win at Laguna Blanca. In a see-saw battle at Merovick Gym, Caleb Jones hit the game-winning basket on a floater in the paint with 35 seconds left in regulation.

    Charger Wrestlers Finish Perfect Dual Meet Season

    The Chargers wrestling team capped a perfect dual meet season with a 63-7 win over Santa Barbara in the Channel League and regular season finale. After the match, the wrestlers put on gold championship T-shirts and posed for a team photo.

    Mandrell's Goal Gives San Marcos a Channel League vi...

    Andy Mandrell scored in the second half, and San Marcos ended its victory drought in Channel League boys soccer by getting a 2-1 win against Buena on Tuesday. It was the first league win for the Royals since 2012, and the first for coach Daniel Torres, who took over the team this season.

    San Marcos Stumbles at Ventura

    Down by two points with five seconds left, Tyson Miller of the Royals had a good look on a 3-pointer but the shot didn't fall. Scott Everman and Kele Mkpado each scored 13 points and Ryan McCarthy added 11 for San Marcos, which was held to only four points in the fourth quarter.

    Brown's Return Gives Dons a Boost in Rout of Buena

    Ben Brown returned to the Santa Barbara High lineup and immediately got into the flow, burying four 3-pointers to help the CIF-SS 2A Division top-ranked Dons rout Buena, 79-49, in a Channel League boys basketball game on Friday night at J.R. Richards Gym. Brown, who sat out Wednesday night's game to rest a sprained ankle, scored 12 points in a balanced Santa Barbara attack.

    Royals Hold Dons to Scoreless Draw

    San Marcos spoiled Santa Barbara High's chance to clinch a tie for the Channel League boys soccer title on Friday by playing the Dons to a 0-0 draw at Peabody Stadium. San Marcos coach Daniel Torres was making his return to his alma mater, where he played on two league championship teams under Dons coach Todd Heil.

    Amber Melgoza poured in 37 points and Alondra Jimenez added 19, leading Santa Barbara High to a 76-41 Channel League girls basketball win over Buena on Thursday at J.R. Richards Gym. The Dons blew the game open in the second quarter, outscoring Buena 20-11 to take a 36-21 lead.
