    Prep girls basketball: Vikings earn 45 straight SCAC...

    Deirdre Huff poured in 22 points and Cassie Alden added 20 points as the Vanden High girls basketball team won its 45th straight Solano County Athletic Conference game with a 89-16 downing of Vallejo in the SCAC opener, Thursday. Huff added 10 steals and five assists, while Myli Martinez had 17 points, five steals and four assists, and Derreca Sims pulled down eight rebounds.

    With 12 players on its active roster listed at or above 6-foot-1, the Sheldon boys basketball team took to the air Wednesday evening in Elk Grove, slamming down four dunks on the Blue Devil defense, en route to a 105-68 shellacking of visiting Davis. After one quarter of play on Wednesday, the Huskies had outscored the Devils, 28-12.

    Two big wins to open up their West Coast Jamboree pool play has the Davis High girls basketball team slated for a rematch this evening of a 2015 CIF state playoff contest versus Clayton Valley Charter Academy. After dispatching Dougherty Valley by 25 points, 75-50, on Wednesday, the Lady Devils rode the momentum into Thursday's tilt against Montgomery , thrashing the Division II Vikings, 70-34.
